1. Volunteer your time.


Get involved with other parents in your community. Help children's and
their families. Start a play group.
2. Discipline your thoughtfully.
Never discipline the child when you are upset. Give yourself time to keep
calm down. Remember that discipline is the way you teach your child. Use
privileges to to encourage good behaviour and timeouts to help your child
regain control.
3. Examine your behaviour.
Abuse is not just physical. Both words and action can inflict deep. Be a
nurturing parents. Use your action to show children and other adults that
conflict can be settled without hitting.
4. Educate yourself and others.
Simple support for parents and children's can be the best way to prevent
child abused. After school activities, parent education classes, mentoring
programs and respite care are some of the many ways to keep children
save from harm.
5. Teach children their right.
When children are taught they are special and have right to be safe,they
are less likely to think abuse is their fault and more likely to report an
offender.
6. Support prevention programs.
Greater investment are needed in program that have been proven to
stop the abuse before it occurs- such families counselling and home visits
by nurses who provides assistance for newborns and theirs parents.
7. Know the signs.
Depression, fear of certain adult, difficulty trusting others and making
friends, sudden change in eating or sleeping patterns , know the signs
Inappropriate sexual behavior , secrecy are the signs of family problems
and may indicate a child is being neglected or physically ,sexually and
mentally abused.
8. Know what child abuse is.
Physical and sexual abuse clearly constitute maltreatment, but so does
neglect or other caregivers to provide a child with needed food , clothing
and care.
9. Report abuse.
If you witness a child being harmed or see evidence of making abuse,
make a report about state's child protected services department or local
police. When talking to child about abuse,assure the child that he /she don't
he right things by feeling adults and affirm that he /she is not responsible
for what is happened.
10. Invest in kids.
Encourage leaders in the community to be supportive of children and
families. Ask employers to provide family-friendly work environment.
Amendment and laws of child abuse

The law to protect children physical dated to 1986. The child protection laws protect
children from physical abuse children's rights campaigners.

The child abuse prevention and treatment act was originally acted in public law 93-
247. The law was completely rewritten in the child abuse prevention adoption and family
service act of 1989 and the drug free amendments of 1989.
The community based child abuse and neglect prevention grants program was originally
authorised by sections 402 through 409 of the continuing appropriations act for fiscal
year 1985 transferred this program to the child abuse prevention and treatment act ,as it
was amended .
The child abuse prevention and treatment act was amended and reauthorized by the
child abuse, domestic violence adoption and family services act of 1992 (public law 102-
295) and amended by the juvenile justice and delinquency prevention act amendments
of 1992.
