4. Mapping

The following section describes how Resolve has mapped the controls on the Element
panels. What the controls are mapped to in Resolve is fixed by the application and
cannot be changed.

4.1 Tk panel

In Resolve select Color Wheels and set the values view to be Primary Wheels.

The three trackerballs and rings control the Lift, Gamma, and Gain YRGB values.
Note that each is mapped to a ball / ring:

Left trackerball / ring = Lift

middle trackerball / ring = Gamma
Right trackerball / ring = Gain

With the way Blackmagic Design have mapped the controls the trackerball will
affect only the RGB differential values without altering Y. The dial will affect the
overall luminance (Y) and the RGB values.

Resets
Note each trackerball / ring has its own reset buttons that will affect just that
ball and dial.

The Ball Reset will reset the RGB values. The Dial Reset will reset
the YRGB values.

The Dial Reset will reset the YRGB values.

For each Lift, Gamma, Gain control you will see RGB balance sensitivity and Lift
master sensitivity.
RGB balance sets the sensitivity for the trackerball.
Lift master sets the sensitivity for the dial.

7. Important - note the following

You cannot customise the way the controls are mapped in Resolve. Only
Blackmagic Design can make these changes.
If you buy the Kb panel you must also buy the Bt panel. The Bt panel is used to
select the functions the Kb is controlling.
When Resolve first connects to the panels, the display on the Kb panel will go
blank. You need to press one of the buttons on the Bt panel to select the
functions you want the Kb to control, then display will then show you these.
The right hand display of the Mf panel is not used by Resolve.
If you are using a USB hub to connect your panels to your computer then you
must use a powered USB hub. The external power supply must be able to supply
at least 2A of power to the USB hub. Do not connect anything else to this hub.
