Volunteering
Teaches fourth grade reading and social studies to bilingual students in the transitional bilingual
program. Participates in the Winter Program, Literacy Night, and Cinco de Mayo Committees. Prior to
teaching, worked as an elementary school interventionist with fourth graders in small groups helping
them achieve exponential growth in reading, writing, and mathematics.
La Voz Del Salvador Church 2010-Present
In 2017, volunteered during Hurricane Harvey aftermath. Helped organize and distribute food and
supplies to the surrounding neighborhood. Volunteer teacher and teacher aid for Saturday and Sunday
school at local church. Has worked with children ages 4-15 creating lessons, plays, and choir assemblies.
Durkee Elementary, Houston Independent School District 2015-2016
Worked as a student teacher in the first grade to complete hour requirements for a bachelors degree in
Bilingual Education
VIPS Member Southmayd Elementary School 2011-2016
Volunteer and chaperone for five years now. Has helped with school festivals including the fall festival
and the cinco de mayo program. Has also volunteered time to chaperone on school field trips, and in
the summer to help teachers set up their classrooms
