The Fugro Seastar

DGPS Service
for DPS/DARPS/Sercel
Users

1
Fugro Seastar - System Characteristics

Fugro is a Dutch company with subsidiaries in many countries and the

Fugro Seastar DGPS service is maintained from Oslo, Houston, and
Perth.
The Fugro Seastar DGPS service provides DGPS correction data from
more than 80 reference stations world-wide.
In addition to DGPS, also DGLONASS corrections are generated at
some reference stations.
The Iono Correction-service is available from a number of reference
stations and provides the ionospheric delay message that is used to
optimizes DGPS positioning in areas with severe ionospheric
disturbances (around equator).

2
Fugro Seastar - System Characteristics

When DGPS corrections have been calculated at the reference stations,

they are routed to one of the three Network Control Centers (Houston,
Eik/Stavanger, and Perth) for quality control.

The demodulator converts the received signal
into differential corrections (DGPS/
DGLONASS/IonoDelay messages).

Check:
Current Readings:
- Signal Quality: 4 to 8 bars indicates good signal reception.
- Actual frequency: Shows the frequency the demodulator is locked onto.
