Brief Bio

Amici de Lumine is a mixed chamber choir (ADLC) based in Mowbray, Cape Town in
South Africa.

ADLC was started by Maestro Michael-Angelo Cloete in 2010. Our Maestro is an

internationally-recognised vocal coach, conductor, and opera singer, trained by Hanna
van Niekerk (South African opera singer and vocal coach) and Prof Kamal Khan
(Manhattan Opera).

What initially started as a choir developed into fully functional non-profit company that
trains and supports South African young adults. Our Maestro carefully selects talented
students from all over Cape Town.

Our mission is to equip our trainees with crucial skills that they need for the workplace,
through the medium of music training programmes. In these programmes, we equip
them with specific skills ie public performance, public speaking, interpretation of music,
social interaction, personal development, teamwork, and excellence.

ADLC rehearses in Mowbray at the Rhodes High School Auditorium.

Amici de Lumine is a registered non-profit company in terms of the Companies Act 71 of 2008.
