The Kaslo Housing Society is seeking a person who can fill a number of roles
which will help to address housing needs and opportunities in Kaslo and
RDCK Area D. the ultimate goal of the housing coordinator position is to
increase the availability of housing in our area, especially for persons whose
current housing situation is causing financial or other stresses.
To achieve that goal the coordinator is expected to keep regular office hours
for citizen appointments, so as to be available as a resource to individuals.
The coordinator will also work with local government, the Kaslo Housing
Society, the Kaslo and Area Senior Shelter Society and other social service
organizations to help them in achieving their goals of increasing the
number of affordable and appropriate dwellings.

The goal of the Victim Services Support Worker is to provide emotional
support and Justice System related support to victims of family or
sexual violence, victims of crime or victims of trauma. The Safe Home
Coordinator position is shared with another counsellor and supports
clients in accessing a safe house in the area.

Leanore Lea (Currie) Brown of humour or feistiness. Anyone who

was blessed to cross Leas path would
July 19, 1939 ~ November 30, 2017 (age 78)
feel her unconditional love and
Lea Brown, our angel, was called home on passion for people. She was the most caring,
Thursday, November 30, 2017 after a long compassionate, warm and gentle person with
battle with cancer, yet she never lost her sense a love for life.
Lea was raised in Chase, BC and always
felt BC was home. For the last several years
she called Kaslo (Schroeder Creek Resort)
home, where she found a whole new world of
wonderful friends.
She loved to travel to Thailand and Mexico
and had a huge heart for her elephants. She
also was an amazing cook and would love to
show others how much they were cared for by
creating wonderful meals.
Lea will be greatly missed by her partner
and best friend Randy Phipps and his children
Jason, Ryan, and Phoenix; sister Bonnie Rose
and her daughter Amy (Bill); son Dean Lamb
(Debbie) and his children Shelley, Stacey, and
Michelle; daughter Jan Jordan (Tim) and her
son Sam; daughter Barb Michalko (Darryl)
and her children, Cody, Taylor, and Madison;
daughter Karyn MacPhail and her children
Josh and Kaity; loving cousins, Grant,
Bonnie, Dixie and Doug; as well as numerous
great-grandchildren and many wonderful
people in her life that she called family you
know who you are!
Lea was predeceased by her parents Joyce
& Frank Hunt and brother Bruce Anderson.
At Leas request, there will be no service
held. Photos, memories and condolences
may be shared with Leas family through
www.evanjstrong.com.
We are overwhelmed by the care, love and
support that the staff gave to Lea while at the
Southwood Hospice in Calgary. Every effort
was made to ensure Leas final days were the
best possible. We could not have asked for a
more amazing group of people.

s Purrfecto Purrfecto is a male 3 year old, brown and white
tabby. Purrfecto is a little shy, but with some
patience and love, he will come around. He is a
very sweet boy and gets along with other cats,
but does not like dogs. Purrfecto would like a
quiet home with no small children, as he is scared
of loud noises and doesnt like a busy household.
He would love a home where he can hang out and
snuggle into a cat house and sleep.
