graduate student. Took a course in data analysis as an undergraduate student.

Online Teaching Methods


Completed Online Writing Instruction Certificate at UALR which involved training in
developing course materials, engaging students online, multimodal instruction and projects,
and effective online feedback.
Coursework culminated in the creation of a 16 week online Writing Center Tutor Training
course.
Expanded and maintained website for UMHB Writing Cru: http://success.umhb.edu/writing-
cru
Trained and well practiced in tutoring writing in synchronous and asynchronous online
formats.
Revised tutor training for synchronous and asynchronous online tutoring as part of
management team as an undergraduate.
Proofread two current online composition courses for UMHB.
Advised business faculty in the creation and implementation of their first online business
writing course.
Oversaw WCOnline, an online tutoring schedule program, for three schedules at UMHB.

Tutoring
Have tutored over 200 sessions as an undergraduate and in current role.
Have developed a continued training topic for tutors each semester. This involves researching,
presenting material, leading activities, inviting experts to give presentations, and overseeing
tutors presenting on a weekly basis. Past projects include stages of the writing process, tutoring
across the curriculum, and diverse tutoring strategies for diverse writers.
Won a John C. Tamplin Award for Excellence in Writing Center Work.

Writing Program Administration


Recruited, hired, and supervised up to 25 staff per semester at the UMHB Writing Center.
Served on the Quality Enhancement Plan Oversight Committee.
Presented information in training meetings for WAC faculty.
Advised faculty in Spanish, Math, and Business in the writing aspects of their courses.
Facilitated weekly tutor staff meetings and conducted training meetings.
Trained 32 undergraduate tutors and 6 office staff as assistant director; 6 graduate and 14
undergraduate tutors as an undergraduate manager; 10 counselors as a unit leader.
Led a resource committee facilitating projects to aid current and future tutors.
Developed and ran the level three certified CRLA training program for tutors at UMHB.
