August Taught 10th grade Honors English implementing an 8-week unit on dehumanization centered on
2017- analyzing postcolonial literature. Also taught Creative Writing where students wrote creative
December nonfiction and poetry in develop their voice as writers. I also helped students to fund raise money
2017 for the literary magazine which produced works for.

August JV Girls Field Hockey Coach, Monticello High School 2017


2017- Trained and developed players to achieve varsity level play, teaching correct tactics, correct
December attacking form, and correct defensive shape. Changed culture of apathy within program,
2017 rejuvenated interest in the sport throughout the school.
Saturday Enrichment Program Teacher, Curry School of Education
January Taught 5th grade gifted students in a 5-week long course where we investigated what is presented
2017-March to us as the news. Students researched facts within their community that were of interest to
2017 them, and later became reporters, interviewing a member of the Charlottesville community and
later writing a news report about that individual.
AVID Tutor
September At Charlottesville High School and Albemarle High School, I served as a volunteer tutor through
2014 -May the AVID program. The goal of the AVID program is to close the achievement gap by preparing
2016 all students for college readiness and success in a global society. My aim was to not only be an
example of a successful college student but to also provide help with question they had in terms
of their schooling as well as the college application process.
Charlottesville Attention Home Tutor
September Provided evening tutoring to students at the Charlottesville Attention Home. I became a friend
2014 -May and a tutor to many students who were struggling to succeed in school due to various familial
2016 circumstances. I developed relationships with many students, helping many graduate high school
and go on to college.
