Two Voice Poetry Project


Objective:
You will write and present a two-voice poem featuring two different perspectives.

Details:

You may work with a partner or on your own
You will choose two different perspectives to feature in the poem Commented [PL1]: Student choice is an important
You will follow the steps in this packet to plan, create your first draft, revise, and component of differentiating instructtion

Expectations
Each voice needs to speak at least 6 times
The voices should switch back and forth
There should be at least 4 shared voice parts
The poem needs to end on a shared voice part
Presenting the poem
You must memorize the poem
You can perform the poem live, or you can create a flipagram video Commented [PL2]: This was the first oral presentation
You must perform/create the video with a partner students were asked to do. Providing a choice for
students to present in person or using a video is a way
to differentiate for different readiness and comfort

Step 1 - Plan Your Two-Voice Poem

1) Are you working alone or with a partner? If youre working with a partner, write down their

2) Directions: Use the following table to plan your poem.


A poem for two voices is meant to be read aloud. Each of the two voices takes its turn reading a
line out loud, and occasionally some lines are read together by both voices.

Now use the chart to plan your own poem. Remember, Voice 1 and Voice 2 should each speak
alone at least 6 times, and both voices should speak together at least 4 times.
