Greetings!
I take immense pride in presenting to you the Batch of
2018. I am confident that this Batch is enabled in all
respects to shoulder the challenge and complex
professional responsibilities in the times to come. The
effective knowledge gained by the students through
rigorous academic and co-curricular activities and the
constant grooming by the intellectually rich faculty
members shape the students of our University to excel in
even a very demanding environment. Dynamic in vision
and robust in commitment, RGNUL has traversed a long
path characterized by excellence in all the aspects of
academics. The University constantly endeavours to fine
tune its curriculum and pedagogy to match the aspirations
of the profession and society by incorporating latest legal
trends in the syllabus. On one hand, the subjects of
contemporary relevance and global expectations have been
given due space and on the other, social justice and human
rights segments continue to mark their presence in
academic life of this institution.
Through the years RGNUL, Punjab has nurtured numerous outstanding lawyers with an ambition to perform and succeed. The different specialisations in
our curriculum especially hone lawyers capable of excelling at varied fields of law. Our course encompasses a wide panorama of subjects dealt with in
depth, along with specialised papers in the fourth and fifth year of their study. Also the University is unique in its world class infrastructure and a congenial
academic atmosphere allowing the students to grow as a person and a professional simultaneously. The components like research projects, moot court
exercises, clinical exercises, legal aid projects and a host of cultural and literary activities on the campus always give an edge to the students. RGNULs
impressive performance on the mooting circuit at the national level has put this University at a higher pedestal.
Our placement concept is envisaged keeping in mind the widest possible ambit of opportunities and an invitation is sent out to Organisations seeking hard
working, motivated students. We shall also provide the recruiters with facilities to smoothly conduct their activity at the University. Lastly, I shall reiterate
the positive features of the Batch of 2018 as being capably displayed in numerous co-curricular activities as well as an impeccable academic record. I am

Dear Recruiters,
With immense pleasure and pride I present to you, the exemplary Batch of 2018 which has
endeavoured to set a mark of its own in the Universitys lineage. The students of this Batch are a
unique blend of professionalism, perseverance, simplicity and dedication which is evident from the
number of laurels brought by them to the institution, not only in academics but also in co-curricular
activities like national and international moot court competitions; writing and debating; seminars and
symposia; sports and an array of cultural and literary events. The diverse interests and background of
the students are reflected in their internships which include experiences at distinguished national law
firms, corporate houses, public sector undertakings, senior litigators and higher judiciary. I believe
that through these internships, they have gained invaluable experience which will help them face the
challenges of the competitive professional world.
An inclusive vision facilitated by numerous concerted endeavours on part of the University and the
consistent grooming by the intellectually rich faculty members has shaped these students to excel in
the evolving and complex global legal environment. I am convinced that these students possess the
required professional acumen and established skills to handle fairly challenging positions and shall

About the University
Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL),
Punjab, was established by the State Legislature of
Punjab by passing the Rajiv Gandhi National University
of Law, Punjab Act, 2006 (Punjab Act No. 12 of 2006).
The University is registered with the University Grants
Commission (UGC), New Delhi under Section 2(f) of
the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 and has
been declared fit to obtain grant from the (UGC) under
RGNUL is the jewel of Indian Law Schools both physically and intellectually.
Section 12-B of the UGC Act, 1956 while also being

Located in the lush green corridors of Patiala, Rajiv
Gandhi National University of Law spreads over an area
of 47 acres. The state-of-art campus boasts the best of
facilities and is equipped with up to date technologies of
rain water harvesting, sewage treatment plant and solar
cell panels. The campus, along with thousands of
planted trees, has multiple and separate hostels for both
boys and girls, a modern Academic Block, Facility Area
which has its own Bank and an ATM along with other
shopping and leisure outlets.

With a collection of more than 28,000 volumes and two digit online and offline
subscriptions, RGNUL has one of the biggest and the best library premises at the
disposal of its students. To further facilitate its research endeavours, RGNUL has
established several Centers for advanced studies such as,

The role co-curricular activities play in the overall development of a student is
undisputed. The faculty and student community of the university have ensured that a
positive atmosphere is maintained at all times for all round development of students
careers through various co-curricular activities.
The University has several student run bodies which conduct various programs and
activities in order to create a vibrant culture in the college. The bodies operate in
different arrays such as Placement Committee, Moot Court Committee, Cultural
Committee, Internship Committee, Legal Aid Committee, Literary and Debate
Committee, Mess Committee & Sports Committee.

competitions, debates, Mediation and Negotiation competitions, Model
United Nations as well as national and international conference. Sporting and
cultural event activities have also been pursued with success at various events
as well.
The Batch has enormous experience by way of participation in various Moot
Court competitions. The students have been the winners of 7th NLU Anti-
Trust Moot Court Competition, 11th Nani Palkhivala Memorial National Tax
Moot Court Competition and 1st NUALS Securities and Investment Law
Moot Court Competition. The students have also represented the University
in moot court competitions like Willem C Vis (East) International
Commercial Arbitration Moot and Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot
Court Competition.
In addition to the wide exposure, the students have gained professional
expertise while being associated with learned judges, noteworthy advocates,
law firms, corporate houses, think tanks and non-governmental

organizations. The students also have a sense of social responsibility and have
engineer a new ecosystem, while it also presents interesting challenges and
been working with the University Legal Aid Clinic providing legal assistance
the batch of 2018 has endeavoured all along to take responsibilities and pave a
path for themselves. They have learned copious amounts on the way,
succeeding and faltering at various times, and emerging better law students
for the effort.
The batch has an eclectic mix of students from all around the country, their
combined cultural, regional and personal perspectives lending a healthy
environment for a well ordered exchange of ideas. Since this is the eight batch
of the university, they have benefited from increased stability and contributed
to the further enhancement of the educational and co-curricular standards
while instilling a youthful hue to every university activity, be it the efforts of
the legal aid cell, or the advanced study societies or the university's entirely
student edited law journal called RGNUL Student Law Review.
The batch comprises of students both academically and scholarly inclined and
display enthusiasm for a wide ranging study of legal, non-legal intellectual

works as well the drive for co-curricular pursuits like Moot Court
to the needful. The Batch has had a prominent role in the functioning of the
various committees of the University and has been instrumental in the
organisation of various events at the University.
The Batch of 2018 has transgressed a long path towards professional
competence as well contributed to the betterment of the university on this
journey too. The environment created for such growth owes in large part to the
facilitating attributes of the university's magnificent infrastructure, well
stocked library, various electronic resources and access to databases, and
most importantly a deeply encouraging and highly competent faculty which
always pushes the students to pursue excellence. Our journey over these past
five years has been one of great learning and we hope the potential we as a
group of students hold to do good work radiates across to you too. We invite
you to come interact with us and visit this University on the rise, and we all are
keenly looking forward to this opportunity.
"I feel proud in introducing and recommending the batch of 2018 to its future
employers. My interaction with this batch extends over a period of two years
i.e. four semesters during which I have taught them Company Law, Taxation
Law, Corporate Restructuring and Corporate Taxation. The batch is extremely
hard working, diligent and sincere. The batch possesses unique qualities of
academic excellence and various achievements in extracurricular activities.
Many of them are excellent mooters and debaters. I think these are the qualities

Evaluation and Marks
The evaluation system at the RGNUL comprises of a rigorous system of examinations, project reports, viva voices, presentations and moot courts.
At the end of every semester, each student is marked out of a total of 100 for every subject which factors in their examinations, project reports, viva
voices and presentations, thereby making 600 marks the grand total of every semester.

Placement Procedure
THE RECRUITMENT PROCEDURE ensure students are adhering to our guidelines and assisting you
with all helpful information.
The Placement Cell shall send invitations to the companies/
organisations with the relevant information. If the company/ PLACEMENT POLICIES
organisation wish to conduct a Pre-Placement Talk, they can send
a request along with their preferred dates for the same. The At RGNUL, we want the recruitment procedure to be a smooth
