MOTIVATION LETTER

My name Saharudin, born in Dili, East Timor May 13, 1993. I was the last child of
four brothers and a hope for the family. Father was a casual worker and mother are just
a housewife. Father's education up to primary school while the mother stopped going to
school when elementary school. Of the three sisters just me who have not married
because they want to achieve my goal as a scientist. This was proven by the complete S-
1 in the Department of Biological Science UHO. During college, I became a laboratory
assistant at the Department of biology for the course Morphology of plants, genetics and
molecular biotechnology this I do because of the interest and how to develop the
knowledge I had about the crop.
Bagi saya adanya beasiswa untuk studi master di Jurusan Bioteknologi
Tumbuhan Fakultas Farmasi Universitas Science and Tehcnology Hanoi Vietnam
merupakan suatu kesempatan sekali seumur hidup bagi saya untuk meraih cita-cita
saya menjadi seorang ilmuwan di bidang Bioteknologi tanaman. Saya mengambil
jurusan Bioteknologi Tumbuhan karena keinginan saya mengembangkan dan
memanfaatkan tanaman untuk ilmu pengetahuan dan memanfaatkannya bagi
masyarakat. Salah satu topik pengembangan bioteknologi tumbuhan yang menarik bagi
saya yakni pengembangan tanaman pangan potensional yang bersifat fungsional,
karena selain bermanfaat sebagai sumber pangan, kandungan biokimianya dapat
dimanfaatkan untuk kesehatan manusia.
For me the existence of the scholarships for master studies at the Department of
Plant Biotechnology Pharmaceutical Faculty of the University of Science and Tehcnology
Hanoi Vietnam is an opportunity once in a lifetime for me to attain the ideals of i
become a scientist in the field of biotechnology crops. I majoring in Plant Biotechnology
because my desire to develop and take advantage of plants to science and retire them
for the community. One of the topics of biotechnology development of plants that is
interesting to me that the development of food crops potensional which is functional,
because besides useful as a source of food, biochemical content can be used for human
health.
For me the scholarships for master studies in the Department of Biotechnology
of Plants, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Science and Technology Hanoi, Vietnam is a
once in a lifetime opportunity for me to achieve my dream to be a scientist in the field of
plant Biotechnology. I majored in Biotechnology Plants because of my desire to develop
and utilize the plants to science and make use of it for the community. One of the topics
of the development of biotechnology of plants that appeal to me which is the
development of food crops potensional that are functional, because in addition to
beneficial as a source of food, the content of its biochemical interactions can be utilized
for human health.
One of the plants that has potential as a source of functional food that I have
learned in the Department of Biological Science UHO the Dioscorea alata L. Plants
Dioscorea alata L. is a plant tubers are widely available in Indonesia and has been used
as a source of food in addition to rice, corn and beans -kacangan. Southeast Sulawesi
community, in particular the Wakatobi archipelago has been cultivating and utilizing
and named Dioscorea alata L. using local understanding so interesting to learn. Based
on existing literature it is known that the tubers of Dioscorea alata L. has Dioscorin,
diosgenin and water soluble polysaccharides that are beneficial to human health and
burn treatment.
In the future after completing a master's degree in the Department of Plant
Biotechnology Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Science and Technology of Hanoi, I
want to be a professor and scientist in the field of Plant Biotechnology. This I do with
the study of genes producing enzymes and proteins contained in Dioscorea alata L. so as
to produce a method of increasing the content of the tuber into new natural energy
sources and renewable. It needs to be learned and applied in order to preserve the earth
and avoid exhaustion of natural resources that can not be renewed.
