Brief/Problem Description:PCA MPM 4 WEEKS
Work Decription:PCA PM CHECK:

A. Structural Check:
2. Perform a visual check on the PCA body confirming there is no damage (down, up and
sides);
5. Check the safety signs and the warning light on the PCA body. Report any loose stickers.
6. Perform check on the PCA solar lights (in the evening) and report any defective lights.
7. Check the hose between the PCA and the HR confirm that the hose is properly tightened
on the PCA.

B. PCA Performance Check:

1. Check all operator panel buttons (ON, OFF, RESET, MODE, UP, DOWN, MENU, EMERGENCY,
etc.). Operator should feel a click under his fingers.
2. Extend both HR hoses and confirm that the "DAMPER NOT IN POSITION" is displayed and
then disappears after 1 minute approximately.
3. Put the PCA is cooling mode and choose Wide Body aircraft. Press ON and monitor the
operation of the PCA.
4. Confirm the PCA is operating smoothly (no vibration, no strange sounds).
5. Switch the graphical display to the temperature output and monitor the temperature drop
for 15 minutes ensuring that the temperature goes down and stabilized around 0 degrees C.
Report any discrepancies to maintenance immediately. Once the temperature of the PCA
reaches below 0, the PCA should no longer supply air with a temperature > 10 degrees C.
6. Once the operation of the PCA stabilizes, check and record the output pressure, output
temperature, flow, ambient temperature, main blower frequency)
7. Switch off the PCA
Note: Report any discrepancies to maintenance immediately!

E. PCA/PBB Interface:
1. Extend the HR Hose and confirm that the PBB screen displays "PCA Hose Connected"
2. Switch ON the PCA and confirm that the PBB screen displays "PCA ON"
3. Activate the emergency button and confirm that the PBB screen displays "PCA Failure"
4. Operate the PBB when the HR Hose is extended. The PBB should not move.
5. Operate the PBB when the PCA is ON. The PBB should not move.
7. Activate the bypass key and move the PBB. The PBB should move accordingly.
8. Check the PCA page on the PBB screen. The PCA status screen should show the PCA
parameters (Only in TR5) Current, Voltage, Power, etc

F. Cooling modules and filter cleaning

1-Check the air blower filter, clean(by air only) or replace as appropriate.
2-For each cooling module:
2.1- Slide out the cooling module .Check that the condenser and evaporator coils are free of
dirt or any blocking objects.
2.2-Using vacuum cleaner, carefully clean inside of PCA of all debris, dust and sand etc
2.3-For the condenser and evaporator :Gently remove excessive dirt with a soft brush.
2.4- For the condenser :Apply water with a low pressure sprayer, set on a course spray
pattern:Start cleaning at the top of the coil and work methodically across and down
2.5-Clean the condensate drain pan with plain water to optimize the efficiency of the PCA
2.7-Check for any Freon leakage (using Yellow jacket leak detector).
2.8- Check the sub cooling value and superheat(5CIf Sub cooling<2, Add Freon.
If Sub cooling>5, Recover Freon.
If Superheat>10C or Superheat<5C, Check the expansion valve.
2.9- Allow to work for 5-10 min. and rinse away dirt and contamination with water.
2.10-Check refrigerant sight glass color (Green: good; Yellow: replace the Freon)
2.11- Check the rubber sealing
3- Check/Clean the duct smoke detector.
4- Check the output temperature.
5-Full Extend the Hose retriever, report any deficiencies.
6-Check the operation of the 4 condensate pumps. If necessary, pour water in the drain pan,
for test of the pumps
7-Ensure that the condensate pipe is free from any damages or bends.
8-Check the oil level of the each compressor(check the inspection glass).
9- Using vacuum cleaner, carefully clean inside of PCA of all debris, dust and sand etc
10- Dismount cover for input filter and block 90 % of the filter area with a piece of carbon
board. Select Ventilation Mode /Narrow Body Aircraft and push the Start button. Verify that
filter clogging warning is shown. Shortly thereafter, stop the unit and allow the unit to power
down. Remove block from the filter area and re-install the filter cover.

11-Check all the modules for any missing bolts.

G. PCA performance parameters:

1-Register (on DeviceMagic) the parameters listed below:
1.1-Output and ambient temperature, Airflow, Pressure and for each cooling module.
1.2-For each cooling module: Pressures, temperatures , current and frequency.
1.3-For main blower: Pressure, airflow , current and frequency.
