Achievement Summary

Through a variety of reading given through the course, I have developed a constant
awareness of how communities shape reading, writing, and research as the reading responses,
thus allowing me obliged to new skills that assist me . I believe that as the more reading
responses and activities around an the author who communicates their research to the student, the
student can then develop the skills needed to become open minded with ideas. As well as being
able to explore a writers identity, in relation to the politics of language, as some of the authors
from said reading responses are able to identify what a writers identity is.Being able to identify
my identity as a writer allows me to portray my ideas and beliefs through my writing, by doing
so, I have been able to communicate with the audience and find what information Im limited to
in regards to the exigence.
Being able to write a variety of rhetorical/academic texts around different genres, has
extended my ability to express my newly earned knowledge about certain beliefs and ideals, as
well as being opened to write in different styles. Being either being a rhetorical analysis or a self
evaluation, being able to write about my own discoveries of knowledge in different areas of
knowledge has allowed me to evaluate my own knowledge and add to it. In the future I hope to
prevail and benefit when I write essays that are no longer out of my area of comfort. Practicing
these skills early on will begin gradually increase my ability to write for different audiences at
different levels of diction.
Being able to practice my knowledge of the course goals in academic essays in different
areas of knowledge perhaps would no longer be a road block, but further practice than to what I
already have completed in my own academic portfolio. Providing further additions to my writing
arsenal and complete what I hope to be a successful portfolio.
Not only am I practicing these skills in the classrooms, I have also used this new found
knowledge and used it in other classes as well as other foundation that I have been working with.
Being able to write precisely about a topic and doing so efficiency, is the new found ability that
the course goals have allowed me to achieve. The writing practice that is done through the
English 5M course goals have allowed me to adjust my level of diction when I write, providing a
sense of correction when I write and be able to convey ideas for others to gain knowledge from
in my speaking. Not only is that practice necessary for a bilingual speaker, but that same practice
is useful for all entry level college students, as continuous support from other work and
evaluation of self work would improve what I hope to be the future of writers.
