Project on Work Motivation in employees


of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance

INTRODUCTION
Human Resource Management (HRM) is a relatively new approach to managing people in any
organisation. People are considered the key resource in this approach. It is concerned with the
people dimension in management of an organisation. Since an organisation is a body of people,
their acquisition, development of skills, motivation for higher levels of attainments, as well as
ensuring maintenance of their level of commitment are all significant activities. These
activities fall in the domain of HRM. Human Resource Management is a process, which
consists of four main activities, namely, acquisition, development, motivation, as well as
maintenance of human resources.

The main functions of human resource management are classified into two categories:
Managerial Functions and Operative Functions.

Motivation is one of the most important factors Managerial Functions affecting human
behaviour and performance. This is the one of the reason why managers attach great importance
to motivation in organizational setting. Motivation is the complex forces starting and keeping
a person at work in an organization. Motivation refers to the way in which urges, d rives,
desires, aspirations, strives, or needs direct, control or explain the behaviour of human beings.
Motivation is something that moves the person to action, and continues him in course of action
already Initiated.

Bajaj Allianz General Insurance is a private general insurance company in India. The
company is a joint venture between Bajaj Finserv Limited (formerly part of Bajaj Auto
Limited) owned by the Bajaj Group of India and Allianz SE, a German financial services
company.
Bajaj Allianz General Insurance received an Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority
of India (IRDAI) certificate of registration on 2 May 2001 to conduct general insurance
business, including health insurance, in India. In the first year of its operations the company
had 36 offices and around 100 employees. The company started its operations with a paid up
capital of 1.10 billion. Bajaj Finserv Limited holds 74% and the remaining 26% is held by
Allianz SE. Bajaj Allianz is headquartered in Pune with offices in over 200 cities in India and
more than 3,500 employees as of 2015.

The Company lists 97 filed and approved products, of which 27 are health products.
In January 2014, the company announced it would open up all-women branches. As of 2015,
the company has 30 such branches in India.

OBJECTIVE OF STUDY

To study the role of employee empowerment after motivation.


To identify how employee motivation is related to performance.
To measure the consequences of pre and post employee motivation.
To calculate the level of motivation.
To study the impact of authorized motivation on productivity.
To measure employee satisfaction towards working environment.
METHOD OF STUDY

For my project Ill used two method for collecting data.

1. RESEARCH INSTRUMENTS:

Personal Interviews: Schedules were administered personally for collecting the data.
Questionnaire : Structured questionnaire
Research method: Convenience sampling method
Sample size: 100 employees

2. SOURCE OF DATA:

PRIMARY DATA:
The primary data will be collected from employees through structural questions and personal
interviews with the employees who will attended the training programmes.

SECONDARY DATA:
Secondary data will include both quantitative and qualitative data, and they will be used in both
descriptive and explanatory research. These data will be provided by the concern in charge who
will help me in conducting these research instruments.

ANALYSIS OF DATA

Data will be collected on different aspects and will analysed on LIKERT SCALE where
employees will be asked to answer the questionnaire on scoring scale of 1 to 5.

All data will be illustrated in table as well as graph form.

CONCLUSION

The purpose of the study is to identify the level of motivation among the Working group
in Bajaj Allianz Life insurance.
After study well will know the working environment, supervisors relationship, family
relationship and individual perception about the company in relation to motivation.
After study we can reveal the psychological and economic factors associated with
motivation and also can bring forth the interrelated factors for motivation.
After study we would be helpful in giving suggestions to apply the motivation methods.

I've given this PGDHRD project which is a great deal to enhance my knowledge and I
know that it will require commitment and self-discipline. However I am confident about
that and my approach to work and that will help me to take my knowledge to a new level
with contribution of You All respected faculties of PGDHRD, Patna University. It's an
exciting prospect and I would be very grateful for your support with this opportunity.
