How to add and display Dropdown List on Search

specific Data Field during Table Maintenance

Suppose the requirement of the task is to add a new field in a specific table and a drop- August 2013 (9)
down list should be displayed during table maintenance to let user select valid values of July 2013 (12)
the new field. This will serve as input help of the data field. June 2013 (3)

The following steps will guide you on how to get this done.

1. Create a dom ain via transaction SE11. Save and then activate the new domain. Recent Posts

two-way, then hit OK button.

Youll see a message that the screens will be deleted and re-created. After this, activate
the table.

6. Navigate to SM30 and the new field is now displayed. Unfortunately, the requirement
that the field should have values in list to be selected. Currently it is e m pty.

7. Go to the dom ain. Navigate to Value Range tab and then input the valid values that
will be displayed in the dropdown list. Save and then activate the domain.
8. When you try to maintain the table again via transaction SM30, you will now see the
drop-down list.
