A Peek At The Sunday Sermon

The Advent Season Defined

Galatians 4:107

He wasnt in Bethlehem for the birth of the Savior. He missed the

dedication service for Jesus, witnessed by Simeon. He may have been
aware of Our Lords earthly ministry and may even have seen His
crucifixion. The fact of the matter is that Saul, having completed his
religious training, set about to destroy Christianity. And then one day,
while on a journey to Damascus, a fantastic thing happened. He had
an encounter with the Risen Savior! His persecution of the early
Church came to a screeching halt. Paul answered Gods call and
became a missionary for Jesus!
On Sunday well be looking at a passage in Pauls Letter to the
Galatians, explaining the Advent Season!

I hope to see you on Sunday morning at 10:00 AM for Worship! Come

expecting a blessing!

Advent is a season of spiritual preparation for the

celebration of the birth of Christ. Purple, the color of
royalty, is Advents liturgical color for the four Sundays
leading up to Christmas Eve and the Christmas Season.

Our suggested Scripture reading for December 17th, from the 2017
UCC Church Calendar:

Luke 1:46-55 (NLT)

The Magnificat: Marys Song of Praise

Oh, how my soul praises the Lord. How my spirit

rejoices in God my Savior! For he took notice of
his lowly servant girl, and from now on all
generations will call me blessed. For the Mighty
One is holy, and he has done great things for me.
He shows mercy from generation to generation to
all who fear him. His mighty arm has done
tremendous things! He has scattered the proud
and haughty ones. He has brought down princes
from their thrones and exalted the humbe. He has
filled the hungry with good things and sent the rich
away with empty hands. He has helped his servant
Israel and remembered to be merciful. For he made
things promise to our ancestors, to Abraham and
his children forever.
