1a. My rehearsal threads and goals for today are to explore the meaning of Ding Dong
Merrily on High and to focus on having clearer diction throughout the verses with
long phrases

1d. Please take out a pencil! I would like you to mark mezzo forte in measure 1,
mezzo piano in measure 5, and mezzo forte in measure 9. In the last beat of
measure 14 please write in a crescendo over the phrase hosanna in the
highest.

Chunk 1: I would like to talk a bit about the history of this piece now. The tune was originally a
French dancing piece and it wasnt until the 1920s that a man by the name George Ratcliffe
Woodward added lyrics of his own creation and published a book of carols that we still
sing today!

1d Thank you for sharing. This piece reminds me of my first time singing for lessons &
carols with my church and how excited everyone was for the service. I would love
if everyone could convey their experiences through their dynamics and faces while
we sing this piece. And I will show my experience on my face and through my
gestures as well!
