Technology

PART 2 PRODUCTS

2.01 CCTV CAMERA SPECIFICATIONS

A. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. The SSC-G923/G928 shall be a CS-mount, day/night, fixed-type color

camera, utilizing a 1/3-type image sensor (976 x 582 effective pixels) with
Super HAD II CCDTM technology and producing a horizontal resolution of
650 TV lines.

2. The SSC-G923/G928 shall have a Wide-D capability that uses

DynaViewEX technology to produce images with very wide dynamic
ranges greater than 75dB. DynaViewEX shall consist of three
technologies to include capturing images at two shutter speeds to form a
composite image, intelligent backlight compensation (iBLC), and a natural
synthesizer.

3. The SSC-G923/G928 shall have superior color reproduction using a 12-

bit A/D converter. Users can select from four color saturation levels.

4. The SSC-G923/G928 shall incorporate Adaptive DNR (Digital Noise

Reduction) technology which minimizes noise to generate a distinct and
clear image. Adaptive DNR dynamically applies both a 2D filter and a 3D
filter to reduce noise depending on the AGC value. Five user-selectable
levels can be applied depending on the users environment.

5. The SSC-G923/G928 shall have an activity detection function to sense

movement in designated areas. The user shall be able to set up to four
detection areas on the screen. When the camera detects movement in an
area, MD is superimposed on the screen and a signal is sent out
through the Alarm Output Terminal on the rear panel. The alarm signal
duration can be set to 0.5SEC, 1SEC, 2SEC, 5SEC or 10SEC and the
alarm sensitivity level can be set from among three levels. These settings
can be applied independently to each detection area.
6. The SSC-G923/G928 shall have a face detection function that can be
used as an alarm trigger to limit alarms to scenes in which faces are
detected.

7. The SSC-G923/G928 shall have privacy zone masking which blocks out
unwanted or prohibited areas within the video image with a black mask or
mosaic to protect privacy. Settings shall be MASK or MOSAIC,
respectively. The camera shall be capable of masking up to fifteen (15)
rectangular areas in any position, aspect ratio and size within the viewing
area.

8. The SSC-G923/G928 shall have a choice of five ATW (Auto Tracing White
Balance) modes, ATW-PRO, ATW, 5600K, 3200K and Manual. ATW and
ATW Pro are features that automatically adjust the camera white balance
to adapt to changes in lighting conditions. The SSC-G923/G928 shall
provide an extremely wide ATW range of 2000 K to 10000 K and an ATW
Pro range of 2600 K to 7500 K, allowing adjustment-free operation under
a variety of lighting conditions.

9. The SSC-G923/G928 shall have a CCD-IRISTM function to automatically

adjust the shutter speed depending on the amount of incident light. The
camera automatically adjusts the exposure by dynamically changing the
electronic shutter speed in the range from 1/50 second to 1/100,000
second.

10. The SSC-G923/G928 shall be compatible with both auto-iris lenses and
manual-iris lenses. The CCD-IRIS function can be used with either type of
lens.

11. The CCD slow shutter speed shall be adjustable in the range of OFF, X2,
X4, X8, X16, X32, X64, X128, X256 or X512.

12. The digital zoom ratio shall be adjustable in the range of X1, X2, X4, X8
or X16.

13. The SSC-G923/G928 shall have four selectable gain modes (AGC
modes): OFF, Manual, Normal and Turbo.

14. The SSC-G923/G928 shall have six custom templates: ENTRANCE,

OFFICE, PARKING, SUBWAY, LOBBY and STATION, that automatically
applies the most appropriate camera parameters based on the scene for
quick and easy installation.

15. The SSC-G923/G928 shall have the following five gamma compensation
modes:
SCENE 1: Brings out details in dark and bright portions of a scene with
high contrast.

SCENE 2: Reduces dark areas while bringing out more details in the
bright portions of the scene.
SCENE 3: Similar to Scene 1 but brings out more details in the dark
portions of the scene.
SCENE 4: No gamma compensation (linear)
Off: (Default mode)

16. The SSC-G923/G928 shall have a Day/Night feature allowing it to operate

in day mode (Color) and night mode (B/W). Switching between modes
shall be accomplished automatically by sensing the ambient luminance
level, or by external TTL level signals via the control terminals on the rear
of the camera. On B/W mode, a DC motor shall remove the IR-cut filter
away from the CCD imager, replacing it with a clear filter, allowing the
camera to fully utilize the sensitivity of the CCD in the near-IR range,
beyond 700 nm.

17. The SSC-G923/G928 shall also be equipped with a 4-pin auto-iris lens
connector to work with DC Servo Auto or VIDEO Servo Auto Iris CS-
mount lenses. Level control shall be accomplished via the on-screen
menus. Back focus shall be accomplished via the adjustment screw.

18. The SSC-G923/G928 shall have on-screen menus. All the camera setting
can be set up through the on-screen menus with the cursor keys on the
side of the camera unit.

19. The SSC-G923/G928 shall have two user presets that allow the user to
save and recall desired menu parameters.

20. The SSC-G923/G928 shall have two menu modes, a Simplified Menu and
a Professional Menu.

21. The SSC-G923/G928 shall have an analog video output producing 650
TV lines of horizontal resolution.

22. The SSC-G923/G928 shall require a minimum scene illumination of:

Color:
0.22 lx at F1.2 (50 IRE, AGC ON, Turbo mode)
B/W:
0.06 lx at F1.2 (50 IRE, AGC ON, Turbo mode)

23. The SSC-G923/G928 shall be controllable remotely via the RS-485 port
and shall support the Sony proprietary SSPP protocol. An SSPP protocol
manual is available for developing control software.
