EUROPEAN DIVING JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS
(UPDATE: 27 SEPTEMBER 2003)

In addition to the LEN Event Rules the following

REGULATIONS

shall apply:

J-D 1 ORGANISATION

J-D 1.1 The Championships shall be held every year.

J-D 1.2 The organising Federation and the place where the
Championships will be held shall be decided by the
LEN Bureau and circulated by the LEN Office.

J-D 1.3 One (1) Delegate to be appointed by the Bureau and


two (2) members of the LEN Technical Diving
Committee (LEN TDC) appointed by the LEN TDC
will be responsible for and supervise the organisation
of the event and the correct conduct of the
competitions according to LEN Rules and
Regulations.

The two (2) members of the LEN TDC will appoint for
each event one (1) Technical Delegate.

The Bureau Delegate and the appointed members of


the LEN TDC will decide on all matters arising on site
at the competitions which require an immediate
decision.

J-D 2 EVENTS & PARTICIPATION

J-D 2.1 Age Groups are (men and women):


a) Category ”A”: 16 to 18 years;
b) Category ”B”: 14 to 15 years.

J-D 2.2 Events are (men and women):


Individual Diving
a) Category ”A”: - Springboard 1 m;
- Springboard 3 m;
- Platform 5 m - 7.5 m - 10 m.
b) Category ”B”: - Springboard 1 m;
- Springboard 3 m;
- Platform 5 m - 7.5 m.
Synchronised Diving:
Category ”A/B combined”: Springboard 3 m.

J-D 2.3 In individual diving events two (2) entries per


Federation and per event may be submitted.

J-D 2.4 In synchronised diving events one (1) team per


Federation may be entered.

J-D 2.5 The order of the events will be decided by the LEN
TDC and circulated by the LEN Office.

J-D 3 FORMAT

J-D 3.1 Entries will be accepted regardless of standards.

J-D 3.2 The events will be held according to the FINA Diving
Age Group Rules (Categories A and B), with the
addition of synchronised diving for Categories A and
B combined.

J-D 4 ENTRIES

J-D 4.1 Preliminary Entries shall be submitted to the


organising Federation, with copy to the LEN Office,
no later than the date circulated by the LEN Office.

J-D 4.2 A Federation having made a Preliminary Entry may


withdraw up to the date circulated by the LEN Office.

J-D 4.3 Named entries shall be submitted to the organising


Federation, with copy to the LEN Office, no later than
ten (10) days before the first day of the competition, if
not announced otherwise.

J-D 4.4 Competitors who cannot prove identity, age and


citizenship shall not be permitted to take part in the
competitions.

J-D 5 ACCREDITATION

J-D 5.1 Federations entering the Championships will receive


accreditation free of charge for:
a) the President of the Federation;
b) the Head of Delegation;
c) the entered competitors;
d) one medical person; a second medical person in
case more than fifteen competitors have been
entered;
e) team staff members:
- 5 for up to 5 competitors;
- 6 for up to 8 competitors;
- 7 for more than 8 competitors.

However the number of team staff members may not


exceed the number of competitors.

J-D 5.2 Team staff members include everybody servicing the
team: Team Leaders, Chaperones, Coaches,
Physiotherapists, Interpreters etc., but not officials as
judges, referees etc.

J-D 6 AWARDS

J-D 6.1 Medals will be awarded to the competitors placed


first, second and third in each event.

J-D 6.2 Diplomas will be awarded to the competitors placed


1st to 8th.

J-D 7 OFFICIALS

J-D 7.1 A Judge is not allowed to act as a coach throughout


the actual Championships.

J-D 7.2 The LEN TDC shall appoint the Technical Delegate,
the Referee, the judges panel(s) and the other
officials for each event.

J-D 7.3 Federations may nominate one (1) or two (2) judges
qualified on the current A- and/or B-Lists of FINA
and/or LEN, regardless of the number of entered
divers.

LEN G-Judges may be entered and may be used in


case the number of entered A- and B-Judges is too
low.

J-D 7.4 Federations entering four (4) divers or more are


obliged to nominate at least one (1) judge qualified on
the current A-List of FINA and/or LEN.

A Federation not able to nominate a judge in the
category prescribed shall be financially responsible
for one (1) judge to be nominated by the LEN TDC.

J-D 7.5 Nominations shall be submitted to the LEN Office no


later than the date circulated by the LEN Office.

J-D 7.6 Officials approved by the LEN TDC are on the costs
of the nominating Federation.

J-D 7.7 The Organising Federation shall supply all other


officials.

J-D 7.8 Acting judges may be evaluated.
