Subject: Application for the Siemens Graduate Program

Dear Stephanie,
It is with a sense of great enthusiasm that I am applying for the position of Siemens Graduate Program. Siemens has
been a tour-de-force in the hyper-connected 21st century and has pioneered various innovative technologies spanning
sectors like healthcare, infrastructure, energy and IT. A new business model involving a multimodal, customer centric
approach is the new path going forward. The SGP offers a dynamic, challenging and rewarding experience which will
enable me to gain knowledge, ideate and solve problems day-in-day-out at Siemens. My previous work experience with
Siemens as well as MBA at ISB coupled with business case competition victories have imbibed in me leadership skills, an
analytical mindset and tools to break down complex problems and engender agile solutions.

The goal to excel at every responsibility I undertake, through strong will and orthogonal thinking is what drives me. I
worked for Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics (Newark, DE) in the manufacturing division for over two years. During this
time, I initiated and led several process improvement projects over and above my regular work which were recognized
and awarded by Siemens. A project very close to my heart was the experimental troubleshooting I undertook across the
value stream when we faced exceptionally critical in-process operational problems in patented technologies. The project
required accurate forecasting due to inventory constraints, as well as risk management because of the high stakes
involved. It concluded successfully, leading to unlocking of issues and saving the firm $1 million annually. Several other
operational projects I worked on involved innovative planning in design, procurement, logistics & execution. They had
significant bearing on the bottom line of the company while helping me develop strong relationships with management.

I associate myself strongly with the Japanese methodology of Kaizen or continuous improvement. As an example, I
would like to mention a quality control enhancement project that I led and the recommendation was successfully
incorporated. The goal was to reduce uncertainty and failures due to impurities in raw materials. I conceived the idea of
using a new, portable, non-destructive technology, carried out necessary validations and successfully implemented the
change which resulted in time and monetary savings. I relished the opportunities of strategizing frameworks, suggesting
improvements in upstream/downstream processes throughout the supply chain. Siemens provided me with a platform
to work with the best minds and grow with collaborative effort.

The enriching learning curve continued when I joined ISB for cutting edge management pedagogy coupled with a rich
peer learning environment. We were victorious in Deloitte Maverick North Zone business case competition, wherein we
developed strategic M&A roadmaps for a telecom company. Our team also qualified as national finalists for two other
competitions involving organizational change management, go-to-market & pricing strategies. The chance of applying
freshly assimilated knowledge in operations and marketing to real world complexities is fantastic and I look forward to
opportunities where I can push myself beyond the comfort zone and make an impact.

Outside of work, I am very passionate about hiking and have traversed over 2,000 miles across national parks in the US
and India. It has helped me explore my limits as an individual and get close to nature which is a liberating feeling. I am
equally passionate about stock markets and manage an active portfolio in Indian equities. The joy of passing on our
knowledge to the next generation is a gratifying and to this effect, I took up the position of Adjunct Professor of
Chemistry in the US, whereby I mentored undergraduate students in the sciences. A pillar of strength that I have relied
on through ups and downs in life has been meditation. It has instilled in me calmness, poise, an ability to think and act in
a structured, logical manner.

The progressive work experience in leading diverse teams & managing multiple stakeholders, synergistic learning at ISB
and a drive to excel have me convinced of my capability to add immense value and contribute to Siemens success. I
present the relevant experience in the form of my resume for your kind perusal and look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Parikshit -
