c. Equipment needed: a deck of cards

d. Activity Description following guidelines for task analysis. How will you explain to your
participants how the activity will go?
1. Each player starts out with 5 cards in their hand.
2. If there are four of a kind in the 5 cards they take, they put them down and receive
one point for those four cards.
3. The youngest player (player 1) goes first. Player 1 either chooses a player or their
opponent if the game is just being played with two people (player 2). They ask player 2 if they
have a certain rank of card that player 1 wants and has in their hand. A rank is any card 2
through ace it does not matter what the suit of the card is.
4.
If player 2 has the card that player 1 asked for they have to give all of the cards
with that rank in their hand to player 1. Player 1 then puts the card/cards in their
hand, unless the cards that player 2 gave them makes them have all 4 of the
cards with that rank in the deck. If that does happen then player 1 places the 4
cards face up on the table and gets one point. Because player 1 got the card they
asked for their turn continues and they can ask any player if they have a certain
rank of card.
If player 2 does not have the card that player 1 asked for they tell player 1 to go
fish. This means that player 1 grabs one card from the deck. If they pick up the
card that they asked player 2 for they say fished my wish and get to go again
and ask any player if they have a certain rank of a card. If they do not pick up the
card that they asked player 2 for they simply add the card they picked up to their
hand and their turn ends.
5. if there are more than two players the plays continue clockwise around the table.
Meaning that the person to the left of the person whos turn it just was gets to start their turn
by repeating steps 3 and 4.
6. The game is over when the deck of cards runs out. The player with the most points
wins.
e. Primary interaction pattern(s) Derived from your activity analysis, which should be
attached.
*Note: Two different types of activity analyses forms will be used. For your first two activities,
use Stumbo and Peterson and for your third activity use Porter.

f. One researched adaptation specific to a disability group. Be specific. For example, saying
someone has anger issues is not a disorder. However, a person with anger issues might be
diagnosed with conduct disorder. You may not use a particular disability or disorder more than
one time.
Go fish is a common card game that most people have played in their life. For this
reason, it is a good game to play with people who have dementia because it can
help them to remember a time in their life when they played it. It is a good game to
facilitate reminiscence. It can help people with dementia to have feelings of success
and confidence because they recalled the memory on their own (4 ways, n.d.).
Besides the fact that it can bring up personal memories, go fish is a game where
you have to remember what you already asked for and what your partners have
asked for so that you can get all 4 cards of a given rank. This can help to improve
their memory and concentration (Memory Games, n.d.). They may not remember
how to play the game at first. A way that the game can be adapted for people who
have a lot of trouble remembering is to put the cards down and the game can be
played the same just without hiding your cards from each other. Playing the game
this way will not work on memory as much, but it can
help the players self confidence and problem solving
abilities.
