NISHNAWBE ASKI POLICE WELCOME FIVE NEW POLICE OFFICERS

(Thunder Bay, ON) On Friday, December 15, 2017, at 1:00 p.m., Chief of Police Terry
Armstrong presented badges to five new police officers for the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service.

The presentation ceremony included an opening address by Nishnawbe Aski Police Service Board
Chairperson Mike Metatawabin, remarks of encouragement from Chief Armstrong, along with a
keynote address from Grand Chief Alvin Fiddler of the Nishnawbe Aski Nation. Member of
Parliament Hon. Patty Hajdu was also received at the badge ceremony and provided an address to
the new police officers.

The graduating police officers are Harley McWatch, Jordan Anness, Chris Lagrange, Henry
Koosees, and Braden Etherington. They will be attending various postings for their Coach Officer
Training to areas such as Eabametoong First Nation, Moose Factory First Nation, Sandy Lake
First Nation, and Kashechewan First Nation.

The Nishnawbe Aski Police Service is a First Nation Policing Service which serves 34 of the 49
communities in the Nishnawbe Aski Nation located in Northern Ontario. For more information on
