Our Product/Service Name: Initiative for Underwater Turbine

1. Describe your Innovation in 250 words or less. What is your business called? How would it work?
How would a consumer use it and benefit from it? Be clear, crisp and creative! (250 word limit)

Our initiative is to promote underwater turbines where electricity is produced by moving currents. The waves
of the water will move the blades where it spins a generator which results in electrical output. The energy can
be stored into batteries that are collected weekly for use or be connected to offshore power plants. They
provide a better source of electricity as wave currents are a natural resource that can be used until the Earth
is gone. Also, currents never stop which means it can generate electricity from day to night.

2. Meet The Challenge: How does your business idea address the Strategic Development Goal defined
in the challenge? What makes your idea especially innovative? (300 word limit).

This initiative for more underwater turbines meets the challenge requirements as the ocean currents never
stop, meaning that the turbines would essentially be powered throughout the day, resulting in reliable energy
source. It can be affordable as it is a natural resource which some governments subsidize. It is innovative as
it has not been used in a massive scale.

Now describe that with 3 adjectives:

3. Market Opportunity: How will your business idea solve an existing problem or fulfill a need that is not
being met by other products or services? In other words, in what ways is your business different from and better
than the competition? (250 word limit)

This business idea will solve a need not met by other products as the ocean is not being utilized. The ocean
has untapped potential and has the strongest currents and waves that are non stop. There are other forms of
this like hydro dams but cause major environmental damage.

Whos your competition? Youll be asked to upload up to 3 competitors logos or provide company names of 3
businesses that would compete with yours.

No competitors against water turbines but studies of pros and cons of them. The manufacturing and designing
water turbines has a decent competition. There are 3 of them below.

The target customers is everyone but specifically people, male and female, who want to be environmentally
friendly. Another target is people in poor areas with an unreliable energy source that have big bodies of water
or strong water currents.

The behaviors of our customers may vary depending where it is. Places where they just want to be
environmentally conscious have behaviors of being environmentally friendly. Maybe they already
use another form of a natural resources such as solar panels. Following, the interests of these
people are for new innovative tech and their belief is that they need to preserve the world for a
prolonged period.

The behavior for people that have unreliable sources of energy are people that are in need, and they
live in places where once it is dark, light is rarely seen as there is no power or the power is out ever
so often. Their interest is to better their lives with electricity. Their lifestyle is hardworking and
mundane, usually doing labor work. Live in the periphery or semi periphery.
