This article starts off with a story of a girl who was befriended by an older male on Myspace.

She put a lot of trust into him by confiding personal details about herself. He then uses those

details against her and starts bullying her. The 13-year girl later kills herself and we come to find

out the bully was a parent of an old best friend. After this story the author begins to dive into

what is cyber bullying and how it is on the rise. As well the author states that with rapid growth

of technology and social media has increased the incidence of cyberbullying. I can use this

article to talk about the many cases of cyberbullying.

Being connected to social media is a big responsibility for a teen. This article states that we are

held responsible for everything we post and do on the internet and leaves a digital footprint.

Furthermore, it urges parents to teach their children that though the internet is a great tool it can

have some repercussions if misused. We should not be hurtful to others, we should think before

we post and that nothing is private. I can use this website for my paper because it offers help

chats and articles.

how prepared do they feel if they have to intervene between a student and cyberbullying.

react to cyberbullying. With these questions, we see that most people see that the effect

of cyberbullying toughnes students up and prepares students for life.

In this article, they talk about the bystander effect in school amongst classmates. The

bystander effect is when an individual is less likely to offer help to a victim when other people

are around. They conducted a study with children to see what they would do when presented an

image of a classmate that was edited in a mean way. Would they pass on the message or simply

delete the image.
