 S1C6-PO2: Determine the significance of the following events of the Civil War: b. major battles -
Antietam
Objective (Explicit):
 Students will be able to deduce the significance of the Battle of Antietam for both the North and
South
Sub-objectives, SWBAT (Sequenced from basic to complex):
 Examine background information on the battle
 Discover additional locations on the battlefield
 Compare the North and the South throughout the battle
 Consider the larger implications of the battle
Evidence of Mastery (Measurable, include variety of methods of checking for understanding):
 83% of students will successfully contribute the significance of the battle to their discussion.
