Individual Child Planning for Owen:

Add-the-Dice winter movements -- is skilled at one-to-one counting,
Snowflakes – holds scissors correctly and cuts quickly and fairly so I wanted to progress to simple addition concepts
accurately, so I wanted to focus on more refined scissor usage Blubber ice bath experiment -- has good reasoning skills when
Melted snowman – cuts out shapes well, so I wanted to try using responding to questions about books, so I decided to see if that
scissors without cutting on pre-drawn lines (freehand) translated to scientific experiments and hypotheses
Snowy Day felt board – shows an interest in books, so we’ll reinforce Snowball melting -- is able to count well and recognizes a few
print concepts (books have characters, sequence of events, etc.) numerals, so I wanted to extend that to learning to measure with a
Temperature Tracking -- understands concepts of more or less, so I ruler/tape measure
wanted to introduce the concept of collecting data on a graph/chart Hibernating bear hunt -- plays well in small groups, so I wanted to
to track changes see how well he would play as part of a large group
Painting letters with ice -- has good three-point grip, but needs Visit with Santa -- does well with familiar adults has conversations
practice making deliberate shapes with writing tools (wants to play games / dramatic play scenarios), so I wanted to see
how he would handle interacting with a stranger
