Electrical & Computer system

Electrical System
Electrical System

Grain terminals are usually supplied with power from 10/0.4 kV transformer substations,
and a distribution system consists o:

Ø Transformators 10/0.4 kV, power 1000 kVA (one or more)

Ø Low Voltage Switchboard (located inside a substation)

Ø Power cables

Ø Motor Control Centre Cubicles

Low Voltage Switchboard

Low Voltage Switchboard can be delivered by the supplier of the substation, or can be
delivered by ICCE.

Motor Control Centre

For the purpose of cost optimization, MCCs are formed for the group of motors with total
power up to 1000 kVA. MCC consists of :

Incoming feeder (main switch) cubicle Motor feeder cubicle

Advantages of the implementation Container type MCC’s:

Ø Buildings for electrical equipment are unnecessary

Ø Significantly reducing the amount of expensive power supply cables

Ø Significantly reducing installation and testing time of electrical equipment at the

facility

Local control panels

All motors for transport equipment

(elevators and conveyors) includes a
local panel for manual and service
modes of operation, with the following
functions:

• Working mode switch M-0-A (manual

– off – automatic)
• Control elements (start, stop, etc.)
• All stop buttons

Grain Terminal Management System

As a result of knowledge gained by longtime working on design and construction of Grain

Terminals and Silos of various sizes and purposes ICCE developed a concept of Fully
Automated Grain Terminal solution.

Grain Terminal Management System is a fully integrated software system for real-time
managing the silos works. It combines into a single system work of commercial
department, scales, laboratory, technologist and silos management. On-line connected to a
system for control of machines and equipment. Provides precise control of reception,
condition and delivery of goods.
Management System
The system has the following main functions:

Ø Manage commercial operations (contracts, commercial orders, realization monitoring,

service cost calculations, reports)
Ø Manage reception, storage and delivery of grain through working orders
Ø Provide real time overview of discharge and loading progress
Ø Provide real time inventory tonnage and position and the current state of all the
accommodation facilities in the terminal (grain quality, the owner, aging duration, the
analytical parameters, etc.)
Ø Provide real time overview of delays and variances
Ø Provides a fully traceable audit trail from receipt to delivery
Ø Prevents cross contamination of grain by interlocking conveyor route
Ø Supports compliance with food assurance standards

Traffic Control System
Traffic Control System

The Traffic Control System is a combination of computer equipment

and traffic signalization. Its primary function is:

Ø Accelerating the flow of vehicles (trucks) through the terminal

Ø Preventing congestions upon receipt of goods
Ø Preventing the mixing of various goods
Ø Preventing misuse
Traffic Control System

The Traffic Control System consists of:

Ø The system for vehicle license plate recognition

Ø RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) System
Ø Equipment for vehicles signaling and routing
Ø System of ramps control
Traffic Control System

Example of Traffic Control System configuration

Traffic Control System
The system for vehicle license plate recognition

In order to speed up the work process and minimize mistakes, the terminal will be
equipped with trucks license plate recognition system. The system consists of digital
cameras, computer system (hardware & software) for license plate recognition. Cameras
are installed at various sites related to the handling of goods :

Ø Three sampling stations (two for trucks and one for rail cars)
Ø Three truck scales
Ø One Rail Scale
Ø Five Truck Receiving Pit
Ø Truck Loading Bin – TLB
Ø Two Truck Loading Waste Bin – WB

Traffic Control System
RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) System

RFID system is used for contactless identification of vehicles and control of their
approach to various positions in the terminal. The RFID System consists of:

Ø RFID terminals (writer)

Ø RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) cards
Ø RFID terminals (readers)
• In front of the ramps for unloading of trucks (5 total)
• Next to Silo for Truck Loading TLB
• Next to Silo Bin for Waste WB
Ø LCU (Local Control Unit) for manual control of a slide gate

Equipment for vehicles signaling and routing

To ensure maximum reception of trucks in the season of receipt of goods in the silo
are installed equipment for signaling and routing of vehicles in the facility. The system
consists of :

Ø Displays showing the vehicles license plates

Ø Traffic lights
Ø Guide systems
The guide system are traffic signs that routed vehicles.

System of ramps control

Ramps are used to control transit of the trucks. Ramps are placed on the following
places :

• Entry/exit to Automatic Truck Probe (Truck Scale) TP1-TP2 – 4 pcc.

• Entry/exit to Truck Scales TS3 – 2 pcc.
• Entry to Truck Receiving Pit (five places) – 5 pcc.
• Entry for Truck Loading Waste – 2 pcc.
• Entry for Truck Loading Bin TLB – 1 pcc.
