Executive Summary
We have taken three organizations viz Times Of India, State Bank Of India, and
Uninor. We tried to know their interview process and the area at which they give more
importance. We made a structured questionnaire with options. We found that almost
every organization has the same view and process regarding the interview. During our
interview we found that organization involve senior level officer for the interview
process. They prefer to have 4 members in their interview panel. They take 10-15
minutes time for their interview and also believe in phone and video interview.
Sometime they also conduct mass interview and also give some weightage for personal
appearance. Generally they don’t ask irrelevant question in their interview and the ratio
of candidates interviewed and selected is 4:1. They also consider candidates work
experience.

Introduction

The only thing that scares most people even more than taking a test is appearing for a Job
Interview. Even the mere though of facing an panel of Interviewers / recruiters is enough to
make job seekers sick in their stomach and extremely nervous.

A job interview refers to a meeting between a person (employer) who is looking to hire the
most suitable people for a vacant position in an organisation and a candidate (prospective
employee) who is interested in presenting him / herself well so as to land the job offer! The
job interview provides both the interested parties with a chance to meet each other and know
each other well with the purpose of hiring & getting hired.

Interviews are one of the most important hiring tools available to employers, used
extensively to judge how appropriate a prospective candidate to fill a role with an
organisation.

For our assignment work we went to The Times Of India, State Bank Of India and Uninor to
know about their interview process and their view about various issue related to interview.
There we talked and asked about their interview process. After that we gave our questionnaire
for structured answer.

Conclusion:
The jobs and careers industry is blooming and expanding by leaps and bounds. Almost every
individual - experienced or fresher is on the look out for building a satisfying and successful career.
In such a scenario, many a times, most good Companies receive a plethora of applications for just 1
single position making it difficult to narrow down to 1 most eligible candidate. Job Interviews help!

• The Interview provides an opportunity to meet several candidates and screen them to find the
ones most suitable for the organisation.

• Helps to evaluate a person's skills, capabilities and personality trait.

• Provides tremendous insight into a candidate's confidence level and ability to handle a
pressure situation.

• A chance to communicate the Company's policies, beliefs, work culture and expectations
from the prospective employee.

• Finally, narrow down, select and hire the best talent to fill the job vacancy. This should
ideally be a person who is focused, skilled, confident and excited.

It is noticeable here that all three organization viz The Times Of India, State Bank of India and
Uniror almost following the same strategy to select their employee. The Times Of India is specially
interested in recruiting female employee for their Marketing work. Which is also noticeable.
