A fire broke out on the ship on 8


August while returning from a repair
operation on the Sat3-Safe cable off
the coast of Namibia. All 56 crew
members were safely recovered.

From the 21st August the service had


returned to normal as C/S Thévenin left
Brest. The ship arrived for standby on
12 of September at Cape Town.

In addition to the traditional services of installation and
maintenance of telecom cables, Orange Marine is
developing new offers on lead markets, such as
offshore plafforms and renewable energies.
Orange Marine backs up companies launching projects
in this sector by offering a global service of power
cables installation, providing them an experienced fleet
and excellent knowledge of offshore operations.

SIMEC developed a new work class ROV allowing a very efficient 3m
burial of energy and telecom cable. This ROV has been developed and
realized in 8 months.

the crawler

The J-SWOC is a crawler dedicated for shallow water submarine works.


This product has been designed for telecom and energy cable up to 200
mm diameter. This vehicle is able to work from the beach to a water depth
of 50 m. It is often used for shore ends.
