This is a picture of my aunt’s family.

My aunt is a
teacher. She is forty years old. She likes to cook.
My uncle is an engineer. He is forty- five years old.
Rizal is my cousin and he is nine years old. He likes
to play football. Sara is seven years old. She likes
to read. My aunt lives next to my house. They are
my neighbour.

1. Teacher distributes a passage to each of the pupils.

“Are you ready class?”

“Today we will learn about Pronouns.”

“I will give you a passage and make sure everyone got it.”

2 Teacher reads the passage and asks the pupils to look at their
handout.

“I will read the passage and I want you to look at it while I am reading.”

“Not need to read after me. Just listen.”

3. Teacher instructs pupils to concentrate on the colour words


(Pronouns).

“While listening, look at the coloured words.”

“Those words are Pronouns. I will explain after this.”

4. Teacher explanation on Pronouns:

We use he to refer to a man or a boy.

We use she to refer to a woman or a girl.

We use they to refer to more than one person or thing.

5. Drill Let’s practise.

Teacher reads and pupils follow.

“I will read the sentences and everyone reads after me.”

6. Teacher instructs pupils to get ready to be a leader. He or she will


choose another two boys and two girls. The leader will point at his/her
friends while drilling the sentences.

“I will call out one of you to be a leader.”

“Now choose your friends, at least two boys and two girls.”

“While reading the sentences, point at your friends.”

“Aunt and Sara should be girls.”

“Uncle and Rizal should be boys.”

“All of them, we call it ‘they’, so point at all of them”.

7. Teacher demonstrates first.

“Now look at me first.”

8. Teacher goes on with other pupils.

9. Teacher distributes a worksheet for them to do.

“Can you understand what the pronouns is class?”

“Now I will give you an exercise to do, make sure you finish it.”

“Those who cannot understand, can come and see me.”
