The Union Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitley said that in an extremely

positive development, data released today by the world economic


forum shows that India’s ranking in the Global Competitiveness index
(GCI) has improved by 16 places for the second year in a row

India ranks 38 th in GCI for the year 2016-17 out of 138 countries with
the score of 4.5 out of 7

Let us see the Macroeconomic environment,health and primary


education of INDIA which are the 3rd and 4 th pillars which ranks 75 and
85 respectively out of 138 countries with the score of 4.5 and 5.5 out of
7 respectively.Both macroeconomic environment, health and primary
education are considered as the basic requirements accorinding to GCI
for the year 2016-17.Both are factor-driven economics.
