FILTRATION
Products of this category are used for suspended solids, turbidity, adsorption, iron-manganese
removal etc.
• CARTRIDGE FILTERS
• MEDIA FILTERS
Filter housing according to demand can be plastic, carbon steel anti-corrosion protected and
stainless steel. All filtration cartridges and media that are used, are certified for potable water use.

CARTRIDGE FILTERS
PLASTIC FILTERS
Cartridge filters for small flows. Filter body made of PP, cartridge made of
melt blown thermowelded PP fibers or activated carbon. Filtration efficiency 1
- 50 u. Maximum operating pressure 6 bar.

MEDIA FILTERS
SPECIFICATIONS
• Media filters are related to a wide range of applications for industrial use and drinking
water (turbidity, iron-manganese, heavy metals removal, arsenic adsorption etc). The kind
of application defines the selection of media and hydraulic characteristics of filter.
• Filter tank can be : polyester fiberglass reinforced (FRP) or steel (carbon steel epoxy coated
or stainless steel).
• Filter operation can be manual or automatic (with the use of diaphragm, electric actuated
valves, etc and PLC automation).
• For large flow applications filters can be connected in parallel.
• Flow rates that mentioned afterwards, are based on 15 m3/h/m2 velocity. Depending on
the application different flow rates may selected accordingly.
• Typical media bed height ≥ 1 m.

SOFTENERS
Softening is the process of removing scale of the water (Ca & Mg removal).
removal) Softeners protect
piping and heating systems from scaling deposits.
deposits Allll systems are delivered ready to be used and
include :
• Tank made of fiberglass, max. operating pressure 10 bar
• Strong
trong cation exchange resin, food grade
• Volumetric electro-mechanical
mechanical valve with
ith incorporated turbine meter and LCD display for
automatic regeneration when resin is exhausted.
• Brine tank
• Transformer 230/12 V AC

OTHER SYSTEMS
Available also other systems upon request, such as :
• Twin volumetric systems for increased demand of soft water
• Bigger tanks with diaphragm, electric actuated valves, etc and PLC automation
(1) To calculate the maximum daily production of softener, divide the model corresponding
exchange capacity with hardness (in οF), i.e. model 2551044 for a water with hardness 20 οF, has
maximum daily production : 180:20=9 m3.

UV DISINFECTION
Wavelength between 100 - 400 nm (nanometers), refers to UltraViolet irradiation (UV). It has
been proved that UV irradiation has high germicidal power as it affects DNA of bacteria preventing
normal multiplication which irreversibly leads to the cellular death.
The proper sizing of a UV system, is capable of an adequate irradiation dose (density > 300 J/m2)
for practically reducing almost all the commonest micro-organisms present in water.
UV disinfection offers the following advantages :
• Environmental friendly (without addition of chemicals and alteration of taste)
• No danger of over-dosing and no alteration of the characteristic of water
• Instant action
• Compatibility with other technologies (filtration, softening, etc)
• Cheap and practical solution with low energy consumption and minimum maintenance
For proper operation of a UV system, efficient filtration is needed upstream (< 10 micron).
Page 10
• All UV systems are manufactured with polished stainless steel AISI 304 (or AISI 316 L
upon request).
• UV lamp life is expected ≥9000 h operation.
• All models include control panel that has hours counter, LED alarm and alarm contacts
(NC/NO). Capability (upon request) of irradiation / temperature measurement
• Output 4-20 mA, modbus (upon request)
• Automatic wiper for quartz sleeve cleaning (upon request)
