General

The level 2 14. Reverse osmosis + EDI technology is used in this system. The raw water

intake is 65t/h and the designed water output is 40T/h. The rate of recovery is 》65% and

desalt rate 》99.9%. The conductivity of output water is ≤0.30μS/cm(25℃).

Attention:

This manual covers the methods of operation and maintenance of desalinated water

equipment(BAYAH2*6MW POWER PLANT (PHASE Ⅰ)). Please be sure to review the manual

before operating the equipment. Cases of operating against the regulation are not within the scope

of warranty.

Sinoma International Engineering Co., Ltd. guarantees the information and data in this manual is

scientifically correct. For the reason we are not sure about the methods and condition that

customers use, the information and data is only for reference, but not the guarantee value. Sinoma

CHAPTER 1: Equipment Maintenance Specification

Please be sure to review the manual before operating the equipment. This manual will be delivered

to customer after trial run. This manual should be followed in order to guarantee the service life

length and safe operating.

Please do not arbitrarily change: Water amount, Addition dosage, Pressure, Electric Current or

Electric Voltage after trial run. And please record the numeric data regularly. If anything abnormal

happened, call us for help please.

Keep equipment away from corrosive chemicals. To protect equipment and instrument from

corrosion, Please stay away from the equipment rack, booth, water station to make sure the

equipment rooms are well-ventilated. Equipment operation, maintenance management, please

send a person responsible for the record. And keep the record data and the original data provided

by us.

Due to seasonal changes, may lead to the water quality of raw water not stable. Keep water quality

analysis chart, in order to analyze.

Equipment supplies: (Pharmaceutical, filter, filler, resin, etc.) Regularly or qualitative change,so as

to avoid abnormal system happen.

If compressed air is used in the device, moisture, oil and gas in the air must be filtered.

Regular maintenance should be done, and make records.

Sinoma International Engineering Co., Ltd. requirement: Customers need to fax device operation

records to us each month during the warranty period. (list in the appendix following) Otherwise we

will not be responsible for the consequences arising from this.

CHAPTER 2: Safety precautions

WARNING
Because of the high operating pressure and high voltage power supply of the equipment in

the system, If you did not specify the method to operate in accordance with the supplier, we shall

not be responsible for any damage it caused.

1. Electricity

System equipment may be required to work up to 400V of output voltage, So we must pay

attention to the following Safety precautions.

1.1 Do not use water washing equipment.

1.2 Disconnect the power when doing maintenance to any equipment.

1.3 People without electrician certificate should not do any maintenance to the

electrical control system.

1.4 Do not disconnect the electrical cable when power is on.

1.5 Do not operate and do maintenance of the system alone, in particular, the maintenance of high

voltage circuit equipment must be monitored by specially-assigned person.

2.Machinery

2.1 RO device in the system works with high pressure (working pressure may reach 2.1Mpa)So do

not fasten, impact or disassemble the equipment when the RO device is in operation.

2.2 High voltage, strong current of the device is dangerous, so do not put the tools and other items

on the device.

2.3 safety precautions for pump repair:

1)Do not carry out maintenance when the pump is working.

2) Lock the pump and put up obvious warning signs during maintenance.

3)Remove the warning signs after maintenance or repair.

4)Mack sure that there is no touch with anything when the motor fan is running.

2.4 prevention of water damage:

5)As the water treatment system contains a large amount of pressure and energy of the fluid through

the system in the whole pipe network and equipment, The high pressure water jet will probably

cause damage to the system and damage to the human body with any operation against the manual

operation.

In order to avoid the accident, please catch the following requirements.

1) To confirm that all pipelines have a stable support;

2) Do remember to open the outlet valve before inlet valve to avoid overpressure;

2.5 Safety lock warning system;

To ensure the safety of equipment and maintenance personnel, safety lock warning system must be

strictly observed during the maintenance of all equipments(including electrical, rotating equipment,

pipeline, container).Make sure the equipment to be maintained is under safety lock condition , and

put up some warning signs on the switch .

2.6 Field safety requirements:

In order to ensure the safety of equipment operation and maintenance, the equipment can not be

piled up around the debris and other blocking channels, the site should be kept dry and clean.

3. Security measures

Due to the need for chemical cleaning and high voltage work, the water treatment room is equipped

with appropriate safety facilities;

3.1 Wear rubber gloves, boots, face masks and clothes which are acid-proof and alkali-proof;

3.2 When working around the high voltage should wear suitable gloves, and standing ground

position should be covered with a rubber pad, and be monitored by specially-assigned person.

4. Safety inspection procedures

The following safety precautions should be checked before operating demineralized water

treatment.

4.1 All emergency calls are posted in a obvious position.

4.2 Make sure that all operators are familiar with equipments related.

4.3 Check the pump, valve and other labels, make sure all are in good condition.

4.4 Make sure that the aisle alleyway around the equipment are clear and the light is bright

enough.

4.5 Keep equipment clean.

4.6 Provide adequate ventilation where needed.

4.7 The working pressure of the equipment must not exceed the allowable value.

4.8 Chemical protection facilities.

Chapter 3: Equipment Operation Instructions

This treatment system of the project is composed of pretreatment(except for iron and carbon

filter)+Two stage reverse osmosis +EDI process. It can ensure the effluent of physical and

chemical indicators to meet the requirements of the owners. Thus a set of high efficiency, high

quality water treatment system is installed.

The raw water tank→ The raw water pump→ Iron removal filter→ Activated carbon filter→

Nanofiltration (Level 1)→High-pressure pump(Level 1)→RO device(Level 1)→Fresh water

tank(Level 1)→Fresh water pump(Level 1)→Nanofiltration (Level 2)→High pressure pump(Level

2)→RO device(Level 2)→Fresh water tank(Level 2)→Fresh water pump(Level 2)→ EDI

Nanofiltration→ EDI device→ Desalting water tank→ Desalting pump→ Water available

Reverse osmosis cleaning process:

Cleaning water tank → the filter → RO device (EDI) → cleaning tank

1. Raw water inlet valve operation

1.1 Operating instructions

Manual: open or close the inlet valve directly or stop water inlet from being controlled by water level.

1.2 Maintenance

1) Regularly clean the area around the water valve, clean the valve.

2) Keep the process material flow through the inlet valve as smooth as possible.

3) When being used, the valve should be checked at least once a month to ensure that the valve

can be opened and closed normally.

2. Raw water pump

2.1 Operating instructions

2.1.1: According to the raw water tank level to determine whether to start.

1) When the raw water tank level is not high (medium) , the water pump automatically starts

pumping from the raw water tank to the removal of the iron filter system.

2) When the raw water tank is at low level, the pump is protected by the raw water tank low level not

to be started, and the follow-up system will accordingly not to be started.. Start automatically when

meet the situation written in 1).

2.1.2 Manual: cooperate with the switch on the control box, placed to the position manual, then the

raw water pump can be started manually.

2.2 Notice

2.2.1 Raw water demand is relatively clean water, avoid sand, line fiber and other impurity

substance , otherwise it would be easy to jam or wear pumps.

2.2.2 Before the raw water pump start, please make sure that there is no air in the pump cavity,

otherwise it will cause the pump idling, pump burning and leaking.

2.2.3 Pumps are strictly prohibited to idle without water. During manual operation, be sure to watch

the raw water pool level in order to avoid idle running.

2.3 Raw water pump daily maintenance

Operator need to check the equipment regularly every day. Check if the inlet and outlet valve of

water pump can be opened or closed very smoothly, an check whether there is a leak or other

anomalies.

2.4 Check on regularly

3. Bactericide dosing

3.1 Chemicals instruction

Cleaning purpose: strong oxidation, it can kill and inhibit the growth and reproduction of bacteria and

microorganisms.

Name of Chemical: 10% sodium hypochlorite (NaClO)

Dosage: 1000 kg bactericide; Dosing pump at 20% ~ 30% scale.

3.2 Operating instruction

3.2.1 Automatic: start and stop along with the pretreatment system. The dosing percentage can be

adjusted accordingly, or be adjusted according to water flow instrument automatically.

3.2.2 Manual: Disinfectant dosing pump can be started or stopped manually. The dosing percentage

can be adjusted accordingly.

3.3 Daily maintenance of dosing system

Operator need to check the equipment spot regularly every day. Record the dosing concentration,

adjust the percentage. Check whether the dosing pump is working properly, the noise is normal, not

any exception, Clean the area around the dosing tank regularly. Clean the dosing pump when it is

not working.

3.4 Maintenance of dosing system

3.4.1 Regularly check the quantity of chemicals in the tank. Make sure the chemicals in the tank is

enough for the use of 24 hours at any time.

3.4.2 Regularly check whether there is air in the dosing pipe, if dose, please exhaust it.

4. Flocculant dosing

4.1 Chemical illustration

Objective: To make the water adding colloidal suspensions, flocculation and sedimentation.

Name of Chemical:10% alkali aluminium chloride (PAC)

Dosage: Add 900L water, flocculant dosing pump 100kg; adjusted to 20% to 30% scale.

NOTICE The pharmaceutical chemicals used in the system must be made to ensure the

quality, otherwise it has no meaning, may also cause system paralysis and equipment damage.

4.2 Operating instruction

4.2.1 Automatic: start and stop along with the pretreatment system. The dosing percentage can be

adjusted accordingly, or be adjusted according to water flow instrument automatically.

4.2.2 Manual: Disinfectant dosing pump can be started or stopped manually. The dosing percentage

can be adjusted accordingly.

1) Start and stop of dosing pump:

A. Under common pressure condition, close the solution tank and outlet valve, put the chemicals

into the tank. Open the inlet valve, clean water will be placed in the solution tank, start the mixer, so

that the chemicals can be mixed with the water. Adjust the pump to the minimum stroke, open the

metering pump, open the vent valve. Discharge the air, when you hear a slight "blah"(one-way valve

ticktack) sound then close the vent valve, the pump will stop.

B. Open inlet and outlet valves of the dosing pump, the bakup pump outlet valve should be closed.

C. Open the inlet and outlet valve of the pump, if there is some air in the pump, exhaust it.

D. The stroke of the pump will be set at the minimum. Adjust the measuring pump stroke locking bolt

located on the pump cover(should be from a minor to large adjustment),and adjust the pump flow,

adjust the micrometer scale, Can change the flow of the pump stroke adjusting knob, clockwise to

increase traffic and counterclockwise to reduce traffic. The entire stroke the adjusting range is

marked by a percentage, Knob on the minimum interval alignment is 1%, after the knob to set the

required flow rate, with the hand tighten stroke locking bolts to keep setting of traffic.

E. Start the dosing pump, slowly open the valve pressure gauge the root, pay attention to the outlet

pressure shall not exceed the rating.

F. When the solution has been added to the required amount of calibration, press stop button to shut

down the dosing pump. Shut Down: turn off the inlet/outlet valve of pump. Notice: Keep in mind the

metering pump operation rules, start to open the valve of inlets and outlets, before down into to wait

for the pump stops working completely close the outlet valve, in order to prevent the pump running

pressure-out safety accidents.

2) Considerations

A. The dosing pump for reciprocating pump, prohibit pressure-out, during the operation of the outlet

pressure shall not exceed design pressure; If it overpressure should be immediately shut down the

dosing pump, and check the dosing piping valve is fully open.

B. Solution to timely add reagents and water contents, you can not add dosing after solution

discharge, In order to avoid the metering pump discharge air inhaled air and increase the trouble.

C. dosing pump during operation must have a personal guard, it is forbidden to start and leave

immediately.

D. the metering pump after long-term operation of the device, so if the plunger leakage is more

serious, the can tighten packing cover, or packing cover has been tightened in the end, and the

plunger is still leak, should change the packing.

4.3 Daily maintenance of dosing system

Operating personnel should check equipment spot regularly everyday. Check the dosing

concentration, treatment of pharmaceutical preparation and the abnormal situation. Often clean

medicine box to the surrounding environment and hygiene to check whether the dosing pump are

working properly, noise is normal, measurement, clean the dosing pump dust after equipment shut

down.

4.4 Dosing system maintenance

4.4.1 Regularly check and is there enough medicine in the box, whenever all should guarantee the

medicine cabinet for the reagent with a dose of day and night.

4.4.2 Often to check whether there is air into the dosing line, please to discharge the gas out of line if

it has.

4.5 Dosing pump maintenance and troubleshooting

5.1 Operating instructions

Iron removal filter has five working condition they are in turn: Water system, drainage, gas water

backwashing, backwashing and washing. Each status of the valve opening is as follows.

Remark: (1) The water backwashing V2 can be adjusted into the size of the water

backwashing,V1 can adjust the size of the water inlet.

(2) Manual backwashing: You can manually, press the button on the "backwash"

backwash the confirm button, enter the backwash process.

(3) Gas backwashing can be adjusted by V3 to adjust the volume size.

5.2 Media filter for routine maintenance

Operator need to check the equipment spot regularly every day. Truthfully record in and out of the

water pressure value and differential pressure, check whether the pressure value is within the range

set. Check the automatic valve opening and closing is sensitive, whether there is leakage and other

abnormal conditions.

5.3 Notice

Although iron filters for pneumatic valve automatic control valve, but inevitably fails sometimes, So

often should observe whether various valve movement speed is normal, open is correct, if there is

any abnormal, please timely for maintenance.

5.4 Maintenance of iron removal filter

5.4.1 If filter in and out of the water pressure difference initially run time is increased by 0.07 ~ 0.07

Mpa, it should carry out backwashing, to avoid manganese sand long running and harden into soil.

5.4.2 Cleaning generally only once, when the filter material sludge more or form a mud ball, can be

manually repeated several times, until it is clean.

5.4.3 Control strength should be paid attention to, to prevent the filter material loss or supporting

layer go unrest, manual operation should first start from low intensity, gradually increase the intensity,

until in due course.

5.4.4 Should detect the outlet of iron removal filter SDI, every day when SDI 5 or more, need to find

the reason, see if consider replacement manganese sand or because of the incoming water quality

variation, and processed in a timely manner.

5.4.5 Guarantee between the pump and iron removal filter pressure at about 0.30 Mpa, or water

pump operation will deviate from the pump work curve, affect the operation of the pump.

5.4.6 Because backwash operations such as washing, it is with the switch on the electric control

system manually, so before and after the check to ensure that the valve is in normal condition before

start the pump.

5.5 Exclusion of multi-media filter

Filter material of iron removal filter replacement is usually once a year, almost no fault in

normal operation, if found in the process of water or wash bigger grains of sand leakage

phenomenon, may be iron removal filter has some water damage, please change in time.

6.1 Operating instructions

Activated carbon filter has five working condition they are in turn: Water system, drainage, gas water

backwashing, backwashing and washing. Each status of the valve opening is as follows.

VV = Vent Valve WV = Water Valve IV = Inlet Valve AIV = Air Inlet Valve

TP = Transport Pump BP = Backwash Pump

Notice: "O" in the table indicates that the state is open.

Remark:(1) The water backwashing V2 can be adjusted into the size of the water

backwashing,V1 can adjust the size of the water inlet.

(2) Manual backwashing: You can manually, press the button on the "backwash"

backwash the confirm button, enter the backwash process.

(3) Gas backwashing can be adjusted by V3 to adjust the volume size.

6.2 Notice

11.2 Notice

1) Ensure all the front and rear of the valve of all the equipment open when the system starts. Forbid

the high-pressure pumps running without water.

valve, slow opening valve, concentrated water automatic discharge valve into manual gear. Open

After the flush, put the knobs of the flush water pump, quick flush valve, slow opening valve and

B) Chemical cleaning: Make use of the freshwater and based on the types of sediments to

prepare the cleaning solution. Start chemical cleaning of the reverse osmosis. Prepare the cleaning

to the request.

C) Water replenishing: open the replenishment gate of the clean water tank. Close the gate when

the position of the liquid reach the scale.

D) Loop: open the washing pump, outlet valve and the cleaning fluid mixed door.

E) Admixture: put the knob of the washing pump into start gear. Put formulary medicament into

the washing tank and make it well-distributed.

F) Heat: adjust the temperature between 30 and 45 degree and make the temperature of the

cleaning liquid increase slowly.

G) Outage equipment: When the temperature of the cleaning liquid reach 30 degree. Put the

knob of the reverse osmosis into the position of cleaning. High pressure and net water pumps stop.

H) Emptying the filter: open the emptying gate of the reverse osmosis cleaning filter and the inlet

door. Close the emptying gate and open the filter outlet door after the filter drain valve discharge

water.

I) Opening stream cleaning: open the two segment connecting door of the reverse osmosis,

clean the fresh water return gate and put the knob of the concentrated water quick flush valve into

manual gear. Open the quick flushing valve and the washing water inlet valve. Close the cleaning

liquid circulating gate and go on one and two stage stream cleaning of reverse osmosis. Discharge

the washing liquid.

J) Cycle stream cleaning: open the clean concentrated water return gate and put the knob into

automatic position. Close the quick flushing valve and go on cycle cleaning of the reverse osmosis.

K) Cycle cleaning of the second stage: Clean it for half an hour and open the two stage cleaning

inlet valve of the reverse osmosis. Close the one stage water inlet valve and two segment

connecting door. Emphasis on cleaning for the second stage.

L) Medicament complement: During the process of the cleaning, if the PH changes over 0.5, add

dosages in time.

M) Low pressure flushing: After the flushing, go on low pressure flushing with the purified water

less than 0.4 Mpa until the rejection liquid not including any foam and cleaning residue.

N) Stop flushing: clean the washing pump and close the cleaning water inlet valve of one and two

stages. Close the clean concentrated and fresh water return gates.

O) Flush circuit: Put the knob of the reverse osmosis into stop gear. Put the knobs of the

concentrated water quick flush valve, slow opening valve, fresh water discharge valve into manual

gear and then they are opened. Open the two segment connecting door of the concentrated water.

P) Low pressure flushing: Put the knob of the flush water pump into manual gear. Start the flush

water pump. Clean the reverse osmosis with low pressure.

Q) Stop flushing: After the flushing, put the knobs of the flush water pump, concentrated water

quick flush valve, slow opening valve, fresh water discharge valve into automatic gear. Then the

flushing water pump stops and the quick and slow valves close.

R) Run: After the flushing, the reverse osmosis can be started again. But the initial water

production should be discharged until it meets the demand of using water.

11.4.3 Choice of cleaning fluid:

The most common pollution of reverse osmosis membrane: Calcium carbonate scale, calcium

sulfate scale in process, metal oxide/hydroxide, Inorganic colloid pollution, silicate fouling, microbial

contamination, Natural Organic Matter. Wash temperature is generally 30-40, cleaning time is

generally 30-60 minutes. The chemicals used in the cleaning must be of a chemical purity or higher

11.4.5 Preservation of the membrane

Membrane components before you install and use them, should be stored in dry and ventilated

environment. The storage temperature 20-35 degrees as well. The membrane components is

1. Water making state

1) Start the system

According to the following steps 1 ~ 3 to adjust the pressure and flow before, please do not connect

to the membrane reactor power! The working pressure of the membrane reactor is no more than 0.2

~ 0.7Mpa (2 ~ 7bar)!

1> Open the fresh water pump (Level 2),and slowly open the system total inlet valve;

2> Slowly adjust the inlet and outlet valve of each membrane reactor, through the flow meter and

pressure gauge readings, of the film will be adjusted to normal working state;

3> By adjusting the inlet and outlet valve, the water produce from film and concentrated water

transferred to the set value, and maintain a stable state;

Be careful: Water making outlet pressure is higher than that of concentrated water 0.01 ~

0.03Mpa.

4> After the flow is stable, turn the EDI membrane reactor power on.

5> To observe whether there is a large fluctuation in the flow meter and pressure gauge of the

membrane reactor, turn off the power supply if there is. After investigation, anew to the above steps

again until after the flow stability, Carry out the following steps;

Be careful: f there is overload protection, press the reset switch to work again. If the overload

protection occurs frequently, should stop the machine and have a careful inspection. make

appropriate adjustments to the running parameters.

2)Shut down the system

1> The output voltage of the control power supply is adjusted to 0;

2> Button and confirm that the output voltage is 0;

3> Turn off the AC power supply;

4> Release the pressure in the membrane reactor, that is, the pressure gauge reading is “zero”;

5> The discharge of water in the membrane reactor, close all valves.

Notice: When you shut down, adjust the membrane stack voltage to “zero” first, And then shut off

the supply of power supply, and then close the booster pump, the release of the pressure inside the

membrane reactor, the release of the film inside the water. When long time is not used, the

protective liquid should be injected into the membrane reactor, Prevent membrane dehydration in

3) Cleaning and Regeneration

16.3 EDI system daily maintenance

16.4 EDI system maintenance

When the EDI system runs 3 to 6 months may need to be cleaned. Cleaning conditions: in the

following case, the membrane reactor may need to be cleaned:

Temperature and flow rate is constant, the water producing pressure drop increases 10% ~ 15%;

Constant temperature and flow rate, concentrated water pressure drop increases 10% ~ 15%;

These results indicate that there may be fouling in the membrane reactor, please connect to

Shenzhen Hentongyuan Company, to make sure if need to clean the membrane or not, or consult

the best cleaning process.

Notice: Clean the concentrated water system first. Open the concentrated water

discharge water valve and the concentrated water return valve of the various

membrane blocks, At this point the water inlet valve and the water outlet valve of

each film block is closed. Concentrated water flow regulation is 1.7m3/h, inlet

pressure is less than 0.2Mpa (When the flow rate and pressure can not meet at the

Method for determination of pollution density index SDI

Pollution density index SDI is represent an important indicator the water quality of the reverse

osmosis system.

The basic principle is measured in the 30psi (0.21MPa) with 0.45 m water pressure filtration amount

of water required.

(1) Test equipment assembly:

1>According to the figure assembly test device;

2>Connect the test device to activated carbon system water pipeline sampling point;

3>Packed in a membrane after will feed water pressure regulation on 30 psi. In the actual test, you

should use the new membrane filter.

(2) In order to obtain the accurate test results, special attention should be paid to

the following items:

A. When installing a membrane filter, should use flat tweezers to avoid puncture the membrane filter

(figure 1).

B. Ensure clean type O sealing ring in good condition and install the correct;

C. To avoid using hand to touch the filter membrane;

D. Flush test device first and remove the pollutants from the system.

(3) Test procedure:

A. Record test temperature. system temperature should not be more than 1 ℃in the test time.

B. Excluded the air pressure in the filter. Depending on the type of filter, in the case of water supply

ball valve to open, or open the exhaust valve on top of the filter, unscrew the filter jacket or thread,

fully exhaust;

C. Use the 500ml measuring cylinder to measure the water just through from membranes filter.

D. All ball valves open, measuring from the time needed for ball valve fully open full 500 ml water

sample and record;

E. After five minutes, measure the time required to collect 500 ml water sample again, and also

measured again after 15 minutes.

F. If take the time needed for more than 60 seconds, 500 ml water means about 90% of the

membrane filter area is blocked, now no need to experiment;

G. Again to measure the water temperature to ensure that the water temperature at the start of the

experiment and the temperature right now is not more than 1℃;

H. After the end of the experiment and open the filter poor, better to keep the membrane filter as well,

for future reference.
