Topic 9. Solar System
Content Standard 9.2 Relative size and distance between the Earth, the Moon and
the Sun.
Learning Standard 9.2.1 Estimate the relative size of Earth compared to the Sun.
9.2.2 Estimate the relative size of Moon compared to the Sun.
9.2.3 Estimate the relative size of Moon compared to Earth.
9.2.4 Estimate the relative distance of Earth to the Sun compared
to the distance of Earth to the Moon.
9.2.5 Explain observations using sketches, ICT, writing or
verbally.
Objectives By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:
1. Differentiate between the sizes of the planets in the solar
system and the Sun.
2. Answer all the questions in the worksheet.
Previous knowledge Pupils’ previous knowledge:
1. Pupils know the order of the planets in the solar system.
Science Process Skills  Observing:
1. Pupils will observe the relative sizes of the Earth,
the Moon and the Sun.
 Classifying:
1. Pupils will clasify the planets based on their sizes.
2. Pupils will clasify the planets based on their
distances.
Manipulative Skills 1. Sketch specimen, science tools dan materials correctly.
