addition to healthier eating habits. One solution would be to make easier for obese North
Americans to exercise on a daily basis. This could be done at work, before and after the
shift, to ensure the full participation in the program. This program would be beneficial to
obese employees as they would be required to participate twice daily to help decrease

Heads Together Activity

 The class will be divided into 4 groups. The groups will identify the problem and solution in a
passage. All groups will receive the same passage. The leader must assign a number to each
of his member. Reporters from each group will depend from the number that the teacher will
pick. This ensures the cooperation of everybody to know about the topic.

Passage:

Because the world dumps tons of garbage and waste onto the planet everyday, recycling
should become the law. The real problem is that every week, each family of four generates
enough trash to fill two 32 galloon garbage cans. This happens because people are lazy, have
busy lives, and buy products with excessive packaging. If people knew there was an
immediate consequence for this waste, they would be more inclined to recycle. We must
acknowledge that no one likes to pay the fine or have the government tell them what to do, but
if recycling were required, we could reduce the amount of trash produced by at least 50%. The
best solution to curbing pollution is to enforce recycling by law.
