REQUIREMENTS

There are many ways to setup a masternode by this guide requires the
following
 1000 XLR + just a little extra XLR for transaction fees
 A VPS server account with puTTy to control it remotely.
1. Download puTTy from www.putty.org
2. Purchase a VPS server from https://billing.time4vps.eu/?affid=1959
 A local wallet that is fully synced
 An open notepad where you can record everything you do
CREATING MN ADDRESS(ALIAS)

 Go to File > Receiving Addresses

> Click on New to generate new
address
 Name it whatever you want and
that will be your ALIAS
 Eg: MN1
Create a transaction on 1000 XLR

 Send 1000 XLR to the address generated either. Amount sent should be
exactly 1000 XLR.
Take careful note of transaction fees especially when sending from an
exchange (not advisable)

 Copy the transaction ID and record it

 Wait for about 15 plus confirmations
MASTERNODE PRIVATE KEY

 Go to the debug console and type in

masternode genkey
 Also in the debug console, type in
masternode outputs
Copy the index which is usually the single number at
Edit the configuration file
masternode.conf

 Go to folder where wallet is

installed. U
(%APPDATA%\Roaming\Solaris\)
and create this line
MASTERNODE_ALIAS VPS_IP:4855
Private_key TX_ID TX_INDEX
 MN0 141.231.184.34:60020
6vzaXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXB7USLp
18c68a3883XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXb58
fc3918b6e4 1
Edit the configuration file solaris.conf
 Open you solaris.conf file and edit it to look like as shown below
 Feel free to add more “addnodes” especially from the masternodes that secure the network.
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcuser=ANY_LONG_USERNAME
rpcpassword=ANY_LONG_PASSWORD
staking=1
server=1
listen=1
port=port
masternode=1
masternodeaddr=YOUR_EXT_IP:PORT
externalip=YOUR_EXT_IP:PORT
masternodeprivkey=MN_PRIVKEY
addnode=78.145.45.173
addnode=92.108.70.246
addnode=89.169.62.37
addnode=89.65.73.101
Compiling Wallet/ Downloading pre-
compiled
 It would be best to compile a wallet by yourself but in this guide I shall use a
precompiled server on the ANN thread by Solaris Dev since I trust him :D
 Log in to your VPS using PuTTy, then copy and paste the following
 1. mkdir solaris
2. cd solaris
3. wget https://github.com/Solaris-
Project/Solaris/releases/download/v2.0.1.0/solaris-qt-2.0.1.0-linux64.tar.gz
4. tar xzfv solaris-daemon-2.0.1.0-linux64.tar.gz

this will make a folder called solaris and install the 3 executables into it.
Running Solaris Daemon

 7. cd solaris
8. ./solarisd
this will take you into the solaris folder and run the wallet safely

 Type ls to know what is in the folder where you are and use TAB to finish up
commands
e.g. cd so’TAB’ to give you cd solaris
This is optional; if you do not understand, do not use, just copy and paste
and ask when you need help
VPS masternode.conf
 Edit the masternode.conf on vps by typing in
nano /home/user/.solaris/masternode.conf
 Copy all the contents of the masternodes.conf here by right clicking on your
mouse

 Exit with Ctrl + X and Y confirm then ENTER

VPS solaris.conf

 Edit the solaris.conf on vps by typing in

nano /home/user/.solaris/solaris.conf
 Copy all the contents of the solaris.conf here by right clicking on your mouse
 Save and exit in a like manner as you did with the masternode.conf
Close Wallet and Re-Run

 Simply close local wallet

 Close VPS wallet by typing in
kill -9 <PIDNUMBER>

PIDNUMBER can be found by simply typing top and taking not of the
number beside solarisd

 Re run both local and VPS wallets to effect the changes made
START MASTERNODE
Only do one option and once
 In the debug console type in  In the masternodes tab of local
masternodes start-all wallet, simply select your ALIAS
and click start ALIAS
CONFIRM MASTERNODE IS WORKING

 Open debug console and type it

masternode status
and
masternodelist
 Most important things to look out for are
the status: masternode successfully
started and
<OUTPUT> and <INDEX> enabled
 If you are anxious to see when you payout
will come, type in
masternode winners and look for your
pubkey which is usually your address
FIRST PAYOUT

 Your first payout will be seen in

the transaction tab.
The icon will be like that of an axe
 Like your first payout, all other
Masternode payouts will be 0.4
XLR and can be spent after 102
network confirmations
Common Errors

 Could not allocate vin : You may have sent more than or less than 1000
coins
 Could not allocate txin : you may be using the wrong transaction ID, less
than 1000 XLR or more than 1000 XLR
 Not capable masternode: could not find suitable coins : you XLR may not
be in your wallet
or you have not waited for sufficient number of confirmations
 There are many issues that could go wrong. Just ask for help on forum. I will
be there. Even more experienced experts will be there.
