Professional: A person who prosecutes anything professionally, or for a livelihood, and not in the
character of an amateur; a professional worker.

Client: One who consults a legal adviser, or submits his cause to his management.

Both Professionals and Clients are beings of social nature that depends on one another for:

(1)Existence

(2)Social affirmation

(3)Need

They are mutually related based on a number of relationships but here we will focus on the:

Existential relationship; and

Relationship of growth and development

EXISTENTIAL RELATIONSHIPS

Existence: Specific presence; occurrence:

Also called as Social Relationship because of having two social beings needing one another.

The presence of one to the other, and vice versa is a necessity for their existence.

Example:

1. A teacher cannot be a teacher if there are no students/pupils for him/her to teach.

2. Students/pupils in the other hand cannot be such if there are no teachers to teach them.

RELATIONSHIPS OF GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT

Professionals and Clients have relationships that are expected to beget growth and development on them.

Aspects of Growth and Development are:

(1)Emotional (5) Psychological

(2)Physical (6) Spiritual

(3)Mental (7) Biological

(4)Socio-economic (8) Knowledge and Skill

Teacher Student Trained, knowledgeable, educated,
creative, productive, responsible, and
mature. An asset. Improving quality of life.
Healthy and happy.
Physician Patient Improving health condition. Feeling well
and strong. Happy. Becoming productive.
Lawyer Legal Client Legal problems resolved. Guilty persons
punished in court, innocent ones
acquitted. Justice done to persons
concerned. Justice done enables on to
grow and develop.

learn and develop professional maturity
and moral responsibility over clients and
society.
