Proposal:
The purpose of this assignment is to give me an idea of what you are interested in researching
and creating for your final project. This is not a formal piece of writing, and you should “talk” to
me in this proposal. Your topic is largely up to you for this assignment, but all projects must be
approved ahead of time to ensure that they meet the requirements of the assignment. This will
be a graded assignment in which you discuss your ideas about your project with me in a written
response. It is meant to give me a chance to help you develop your project and give you feedback
before you begin creating your adaptation.

Proposal Requirements:
Please answer the following questions in detail. This should result in 1-2 pages of both
your answers to these questions as well as any questions you have for me. Keep in mind,
the more detail you provide, the more I can help you.

1. What text or texts are you considering for your final project? Why did you choose this
specific text or texts?

2. What are some of your ideas for creating your creative project? Will you choose a
specific scene, character, or setting? Will you focus on something very detailed and
specific or create a more general overview of some aspect of the text? What type of
project are you considering? A website, a blog, a screenplay, a board game, etc.?

3. How will your project engage with what you have learned in the class? How will it
illustrate science fiction traditions or push against those traditions?

4. What questions do you have for me? How can I assist you complete a successful
project?
