b. Select the Characters of the Story
c. Sequence the events based on the story given.

The Teacher will Show pictures that related to the Story and ask the student
What did they observe on the picture?

E. Presentation
- Present the topic. My Father’s Tragedy
1.My father’s tragedy is one of his stories that depicted the Filipino life. It is about the
poor living of Brucio and his family. It starts with a famine that drives farm-dependent
families to poverty and hunger, including that of the narrator, a son. His mother and
sister find ways and means to put food on the table. His father stop working because he
felt that he gain nothing when he work, so he hope to find a better living by means of
cockfighting through his rooster Burick.
2. Once, he even teaches his son how to make the animal stronger and ready for a fight.
Then the father draws up a strategy that will put the family out of poverty.
4.It was Sunday when he met Brucio, a strange man who had a black fighting cock. He
had come from one of the neighboring towns to seek his fortune of cockpit. He
negotiates with Brucio to have a fight with Burick but he refused for a reason that Burick
is not yet ready. But his co -bystanders help to push through the fight.
4.And when the time of the fight comes, he woke up because of something delicious his
wife was preparing for dinner. It was once in a blue moon dish. His wife prepare a very
delicious dish, it is a chicken soup with papaya. On his delight, he ate lot of it. He enjoys
every parts of the chicken. After a long time, it is his first time to taste again this kind of
delicious dish. After filling his tummy he asked his wife, where did you get the meat? it
was so delicious. His wife answered, Where do you think i'm going to get this And he
realize that his beloved Burick is missing. He ran away because of frustrations. His hope
had faded away.
- Let the Student read when the teacher finishes reading
- Ask the student what did they understand on the story after reading

- Discuss the story so that the student will understand what was the story is all about.
- What are the moral lessons that we get in the Story ?
- Select the characters of the story
IV. EVALUATION
Sequence each events based on the story given.
Call a student to paste the picture on the board according to its event.
