Personal statement June 2015

I’m a highly motivated and hardworking individual, who has recently completed my GCSE’s, I have been
awarded a place in Highdown School and Sixth Form Centre starting September where I will complete my A-
levels.

I can work well with others and have good co-operation skills. Coupled with desire to gain real working
experience. I have a methodical approach to working and an eagerness to learn and develop personal
knowledge of many sports. My Eventual career goal is to become a fully qualified and experienced sports
journalist or football commentator, with the longer-term aspiration of working for Sky Sports.

John Lewis Dispatch, Theale (unpaid work experience)

(Summer 2014)

Duties included:
 Shadowed a key members of staff, observing their day-to-day work
 Spent a morning working within the admin team, listening to client complaints and understanding
company best practice when responding
 Assisted in project on gifts, learnt how a wedding gift is made and sent away to the customer
 Learned about company’s ethos and staff jobs
 Gained knowledge of key health and safety standards used within the industry

Hobbies & Interests

My main hobby is gaming, socialising and having a big interest in sports. I used to play for a local football
team for 5 years where I gained plenty of key skills such as teamwork. Another sport I enjoyed a played for
a long period was table tennis. I have other hobbies such as watching and playing football. I am also keen
on Formula 1 and tennis.
