Topic : Expecting guests
Type of the lesson : Mixted
Time : 45 minutes

Specific Competence: Learning and Making a description of some rules of laying the table when expecting
guests. (Spoken Interaction, Reading, Culture and Integrated Skill Combination).

Sub Competences: 2.4. Producing a simple messages with appropriate fluency, stress,intonation and sense
groups.
3. Identifying and explaining the rules of laying the table
3.3. Identifying the main ideas of the text (silent reading)

Objectives: The pupils will be able:


O1 to role-play a dialogue
O2 to make up sentences using new vocabulary read a text for general information
O3 to learn how to be a generous host
O4 to lay the table when expecting guests
O5 to work in pairs and use the phrases of politeness in their own sentences
O6 to answer the questions to the text and a crossword
O7 to work in small groups and fulfill some tasks set by the teacher
O8 to match the words with the appropriate images
O9 to read a text for general information

Methods and techniques: Magic Box, Multiple choice, Chain reading, Pair work,Group work, Crossword,
Discussion, Dialogue,Role-play, Matching.

Materials: Magic Box, Computer, Projector, Chalk, Blackboard, Worksheets, Workcards,

Hand-outs, Utensils (forks, spoons, plates, knives, napkins, etc), Visual aids.

Magic Box The teacher greets the pupils and the guests, organizes the
Warm up class for the lesson.
Evocation As a warm up activity is used the magic box, which is placed 3min
at the bottom of the blackboard with the following
inscription:

written on a sheet of paper in the Magic Box. They come in

EXPECTING GUESTS
Sense The pupils put down the topic of the lesson. 3min
realization Having discovered the topic of the lesson, the teacher
presents the objectives of the lesson written on slides in the
ppt presentation.
Description
Afterwards the teacher introduces the new words that will be
used throughout the lesson. The new vocabulary is also
written on slides in ppt presentation, the teacher reads the
words and the pp repeat them.
Orally, the pupils are asked to make up sentences using one
of the new words in order to make them better understand
and memorize new vocabulary.

Power To get pupils familiarized better with new words the teacher
Point reads the text and the pp listen to it. Then the pupils are
asked to read the text again. They read the text in turns.
As the post-reading activity the pupils have to answer some
questions to the text:
1) Who are the Taylors expecting as guests? Evaluate pp

Answering Group I : On the tablecloth the pupilsp are given some mixed
questions words, they have to unscramble the sentence and perform the
