participation in society through developing learning opportunities that promote participation in school and
community life.

Vision
For all children at CTMS to have opportunities to
participate as critical, active, informed and
responsible citizens, both in their own local, wider
and global communities.

Aims:
 To use creative decision-making to engage with societal issues.
 To nurture a keen sense of individual and social responsibility.
 To use the immediate and wider Wellington environment to engage students in how societies are organized and function.

 To provide the students opportunities to respond to current, topical issues in their own environment.
 To provide a sustainable environment through encouraging students to take action with a specific ‘social science’ focus.
