General Guidelines and Sem Timeline

The Seminar Team invites prospective writers to submit proposals for Seminar 2018, with the
following structure:

1. Topic: The title of your paper.

2. Brief outline of your topic.

3. Hypothesis: The theory/idea/notion/ issue/event/policy that forms the basic premise of your
paper. Elaborate on it. You may have more than one hypothesis.

4. Objectives: State the results that you aim to achieve through the course of your paper;
including primary (major), secondary and tertiary (minor) objectives.

5. Theme-Connect: Concisely state the relation between the topic of your choice and the theme.
The idea can relate to the individual concepts in the theme, that is ebb, flow or slack or may link
two or all of them together.

6. State examples and case studies (if any) that you intend to incorporate in your paper. You
may attach one link to substantiate your idea.

7. References: Research papers, books, websites or other sources used or intended to be used to
indicate where the idea stemmed from. (APA format). Please avoid quoting Wikipedia as a
source.

Word limit for proposal: 300-500 words.

Please Note :

 Co-authoring papers is permitted with a max. of 3 co-authors allowed per Sem paper.
 A paper presentation at Khandala or a viva with a faculty member is mandatory.
 Criteria for selection of Sem papers : Novelty and creativity, clarity of thought, significance,
relevance to the theme

Tentative Timeline

Paper Proposal deadline : Sept 2, 2017

First draft deadline : Sept. 22/23, 2017.

Second draft deadline : Nov. 4, 2017

Third draft deadline : Dec 12, 2017

Final submission : Jan. 3, 2018

Eco Seminar at Khandala : Jan. 5 -7, 2018
