There are three different methods

for solving a 1st order differential

equation.They are as follows:

1-Separable variable mthod

2-Supposition method

3-Classical approach

Consider a 1st order differential

equation as

dy(t)/dt+(R/L)dy(t)/dt+(1/LC)y(t)=(1/LC)r(t)

It has two components of solution

namely transient response and steady state response.

ie y(t)=yn(t)+yf(t)

let y(t)=Kest

then for homogeneous solution we have

yh(t)=kest and for particular solution we have yp(t)=KA where

K=1.so the complete solution will be

y(t)=KA+K1er1t+K2er2t
