1. Introducing students to the conjunctions they need to use through real life examples from pamphlets,
websites etc. and drawing attention to the grammatical structure of these examples.
2. Listening to a news report about animals that uses past tense structures.
3. Handing out worksheets students will answer after listening to a news report about wild animals and
their habitats to provide examples on stating reasons.
4. Discussing about the news report.
5. Giving students an online survey about wildlife.

Summary
The content is using Past Tense to give reasons. The method used for this is Communicative Approach and
Presentation. The lesson starts with an introduction to the subject using Communicative Language Teaching
Method. Students learn the function words they need to use from real-life sources and the teacher draws their
attention to the grammatical components of the examples they deal with. After that, students listen to a news
report about wildlife that includes explanations in the past tense and complete the drill exercises in the
worksheet. After that, this time, they discuss the issues in the news report. Towards the end of the lecture,
students are given an online survey.

that was originally planned to follow it. If the students find the subject challenging to learn, the teacher gives a
short recap of the Past Tense constructions.
