Quick Start Pegasos
Step 1 – Preparing the device

Switch on the device (manual; page 6) and press the gear icon on the main screen. Then press
the config button (manual; page 7). Be sure that PEGASOS is selected. Confirm this by using
the check mark.

Step 2 – Preparing the computer – RNDIS driver installation

Press the setup button (manual; page 7) and connect the device with the PC (with Windows operating
system) via the provided USB cable. Then follow the instructions beginning at page 9 depending on
your current Windows version. The driver installation is required for the D.A.R.V.I.N® web configuration
on the PC. Keep the USB connection until the configuration process is finished.

Step 3 – D.A.R.V.I.N® configuration

After the successful driver installation and with the device still attached to the PC, enter the internet
address http://192.168.3.1 in your web browser (manual; page 12) and in the login screen enter
username and password. Now you are in the configuration backend of D.A.R.V.I.N®. The system
provides very versatile configuration options – for example to enable the manual WLAN configuration
on-screen via the “on-device setup” option or, when using a SIM card, to configure the APN settings
manually and ondemand.

Step 4 – definition of authorized contacts

Add your users in the contact list (manual; page 19) who are allowed to receive an invitation SMS
or email with the pin code (for connecting the teamdesk software). After this is done, just logout
(manual; page 20) and disconnect the USB cable from the device.

Step 5 – establish a LIVE-connection

Press the LIVE button on the main screen (manual; page 32), select your partner from the user list
(see step 4) and select the connection type – for example 3G, WLAN or Ethernet. The connection is
initialized immediately. The selected user receives the invitation code (pin code) either via SMS or
email. The partner starts the teamdesk software on his Windows PC and enters this pin code (manual;
page 33). In this window the partner has the possibility to define a given proxy server or other network
specific options. An appropriate internet connection is required on the PC for teamdesk LIVE
communication. Finally the connection is established and the D.A.R.V.I.N® user shares his
experience with the invited partner in realtime.

Step 6 – teamdesk features

On page 29 you find a more detailed description of the teamdesk functions.

Note: The values entered should correspond to your actual network circumstances;
otherwise, it will “skip” and drop frames both in video and in audio communication. When
establishing a connection when using D.A.R.V.I.N®, you should always select the
appropriate profile to get the best video/audio quality for the available bandwidth.“

Note: The users (administrator and users) only have the rights given. An administrator is therefore “only” an
administrator and not a user. If you nevertheless want the administrator to also be a user, simply create
another contact for the appropriate colleague, this time as a user.

We recommend leaving the Spintower administrator in the list as this user can assist you, if necessary, with
remote maintenance. The Spintower administrator will just have access, if you allow and invite him. The
Testuser is just for testing purposes, if you don´t need any further tests, delete him. Your data security is a
top priority for us!

Remote Webinterface

Beside the wired config option which is described before (starting at

page 8) you are also able to configure D.A.R.V.I.N® via a wireless
WIFI connection. It is also possible to start maintaining D.A.R.V.I.N®
remotely with the “Admin” mode.

Click the “Admin” Button in the Settings of the D.A.R.V.I.N unit.

Select the admin contact which is registered in the D.A.R.V.I.N® contacts (see Page
19).

Choose Wi-Fi

21
The chosen admin will receive an E-Mail with the link to the hosted webinterface in
your local Wifi (Please note: it is an internal link of the temporary WIFI IP address
which was given from your DHCP server– so it is an absolutely safe link and no
possibility to enter from outside or an internal IP address of your local network!)
The connection is an encrypted https connection to prevent unauthorized persons
to access!

After establishing the connection, D.A.R.V.I.N® shows the according URL to

access the web interface. Type this link in your browser (tablet, smartphone or PC
which must be in the same WIFI net) and you will have direct wireless access to
the administration tool. You will see a certificate error which just means that is an
unknown IP address because the given IP address from your DHCP server
changes normally at each connection.

Tip: A very fast and efficient method to access the webinterface

is via a mobile hotspot. Start a hotspot on your smartphone and
connect D.A.R.V.I.N® to it. Now you can access the
webinterface via your smartphone browser and the given URL.
