DESIGN PORTFOLIO

My name is Isabel Ford and I am a Graphic Designer


and Photographer based in Brisbane. I am first and
foremost a creative thinker and creative problem
solver. I aim to produce strong forms of visual
communication and am continually expanding my
design skill set to produce the highest quality of
work. I believe strong organisational skills and time
management are key to a successful project and I aim
to make this a priority when completing a project. I
take time to deconstruct briefs and work with a client to
ensure their needs and expectations are both met and
exceeded.

MARKETING CAMPAIGN

DESCRIPTION

The brief was to design a series of logos and


corresponding marketing campaign for a fictional
brand. The logo had to be flexible across several
different types of media including print and digital,
and able to be used in many types of advertising.

There was to be a clear brand identity which I focused


on by selecting 3 key words: leading, innovative, bold.
The logo was created on illustrator and the marketing
campaign was edited on photoshop.

1.1 PRIMARY LOGO

DESCRIPTION

The principle message of the logo is that Power


Records is a leading, innovative, all genre record label
that aims to experiment and separate itself from other
labels.

The cyclones shape for the logo aims to reflect the


evolving nature of the brand. This links back to the
idea that the brand is constantly experimenting with its
artists and trying to push the boundaries.

1.1 SECONDARY LOGO

DESCRIPTION

The secondary logo features the same gradient effect


as the main logo, except in a black and grey palette.
The secondary logo is used for corporate purposes
such as contracts, due to the more sophisticated
colour selection. Whereas the main logo is used for
commercial purposes such as advertising and for the
main branding.

DESCRIPTION

These mockups were created to showcase how the


logo variations could be implemented in a corporate
situation. It features both the letterhead logo on
documentation and the primary and secondary logos
on business cards.

1.2 MARKETING CAMPAIGN

OVERVIEW

“Music from the Gods” is the first advertising


campaign for Power Records. The campaign showcases
the label as a bold, youth-oriented, experimental
brand that is not afraid to push the boundaries and
make an impact.

The campaign was developed in an over exaggerated,


spoof style. Many ad campaigns which use over
exaggeration first start with identifying the main
benefit of the brand, and then amplifying it to attract
consumer attention and make the ad memorable.

DESCRIPTION

The campaign aims to exaggerate the bold, edgy


features of the brand through the use of the God
figures. The use of over exaggeration in facial
expressions aims to amplify these ideals to the
audience. The spoof style inspired by the movie
“300” also adds to the memorability of the campaign
through humour.

Although the campaign may have an over


exaggerated, humorous element, the central
connotations of the campaign are crucial. In terms of
shared culture, Gods = Bold, Power, Dynamic. which
reflects the key message of the brand.

DESCRIPTION

The brief was to create a fully functioning,


downloadable typeface based on an original concept.
The typeface was to include uppercase, lowercase,
numbers and symbols. The typeface created called
‘‘Void’’, is inspired by minimalism with missing
sections and a simplistic shape.

Roving Foodie Magazine focuses on Brisbane and


Australian food trucks. It specifically focuses on truck
design, branding and the visual elements of a food
truck business.

I started in photography at the age of 15, and have


been regularly taking images for over 5 years. I focus
on fashion photography and portraiture. My main
editing software is Photoshop, however occasionally
use Lightroom.
