Project Description
Outbound Flow:
As an Enterprise Platform, Fax As A Service wants to support Outbound sending of faxes. FaaS platform will provide an
API for sending outbound fax documents, created by LOB applications, and placed in a shared folder. Currently APIs can
accept single files, but Batch support is also planned. Fax send requests will be then queued by the platform and sent on
priority basis.
The processing of the outgoing faxes includes ECM platform integration. The platform continuously polls the RightFax
Server Database for status changes and can update the status in ECM platform. An LOB applications can call the FaaS
platform document Access Service (FDS) API to get the fax document status or details.
Inbound Flow:
As an Enterprise Platform, Fax As A Service wants to support Inbound processing of faxes that arrive in a shared folder for
each LOB application. The faxes that are dropped to the shared folder by the RightFax Servers will be processed by the FaaS
platform. The FaaS platform for Inbound processing will support ECM platform Integration and also move files from the
shared folder to the LOB destination folder location. The platform will support Push and Pull mode to retrieve the faxes and
associated metadata. In case on Push mode, the FaaS platform will send the file to the LOB destination folder. In the Pull
mode, the LOB application can call the APIs provided by the platform to extract the files and/or metadata.
