Play Festival

MECHANICS

1. Each class will present a one-act of a Shakespearean play within twenty (20) minutes of stage
time. Lights and sounds will be turned off after 21 minutes whether or not the
presentation is done.

2. Through the drawing of lots, each class is randomly assigned a play from the following list:

9A – Little Women: Playing Pilgrims by Louisa May Alcott

9B – The Gift of the Magi by O. Henry

9C – The Child’s Story by Charles Dickens

9D – An Angel in Disguise by T.S. Arthur

9E – The Little Match Girl by Hans Christian Andersen

9F – Thank You, Ma’am by Langston Hughes

9G – The Selfish Giant by Oscar Wilde

9H – The Split Cherry Tree by Jesse Stuart

9I – The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin

3. The judges’ decision is final and irrevocable.
