INTRODUCTION
This project report deals with the study of mosaic tiles with
regards to performance and market share of Jayco tiles manufactured by
M/s Jayashree construction, Shimogga.
Reference has also being made to the marketing and other tiles
and comparative analysis with regard to completive brands at mosaic
tiles. Jayco is an industrial firm producing different type of colored and
designed mosaic tiles. The firm also channels’ other products like
increase paver design etc.
This project report aims 10 carry out the detail study of the
consumer attitude towards the products, method of office management,
sales producer manufacturing process which is involved in Jayashree
construction.

Limitations
The scope of the study as limited to Shimogga city and the inferences’
have also been drawn with the help of the opinion as the respondents of
Shimogga city. Therefore there are chances as inference, becoming
unsuitable in such marketing measurements when have completely
system see up as marketing trends.
Even then, all necessary attempts have been made and presentation have
been taken to sale out and enact correct answer as to make the study as
mosaic tiles as realistic possible.

The process of administrative department is to build a good

department of Jayashree construction is in Jail Road Shimogga. This
administrative department is going to perform the following functions.

This department is situated in the factory premises which is
located at industrial estate this department is consisting of a manager,
Supervisor, 7 skilled worker and 2 unskilled workers, the main function
as this department is concerned with manufacturing of tiles. It also
arranges for distribution of the products.

The material management places very important role in a growth
of the firm. One of the basic function management is to employ capital
efficiency to get maximum result.

They are many kinds of tiles we may found in our usual market.

The terrazzo is a cement flooring in which fragment of stones are set to
make a stone surface, which is completed by polishing. A mosaic effect
is produced terrazzo when different colors are used. Many of the wide in

The firm has maintaining all the affairs of firm very clearly &
correctly. Under the dynamic management & very good business
through if dileep Kumar. B .Ghatke by comparing so other industries in
Shimogga city. This firm the very strict in maintenance of accounts, they
had different method to kept and record all the accounts. They have
given every kind and designed mosaic tiles a group number with a
different code as follows
The proprietors will attend the office in the evening and check all
the accounts. In dau4min will be in industry.
The firm has a regular internal check over the books of accounts
the firm also in engage of regular audit of books as accounts once in a
year. At present accounting department which handled by Basavaraj sir
and Sujatha mam the Auditor will take charge over all the accounts of
the firm and prepare for the final accounts as the end of financial year.
The annual closing of books of accounts of the firm is on 31st march
every year.

stocks in & go out to the manufacture.
The sales of mosaic tiles has been done on the basis of order given
by the customers for the purpose by displaying the tiles they firm had on
show room near jail circle, the firm (or) industry run (or) depend only on
the organization by customer contributions.
1. When the customer enter into the showroom, he will let to choose &
select the tiles for which the various types of tiles have same coded
number for easy references those numbers are like this 10/10.12/12,
12/8 etc.
2. After selection the proper design he will be given a form called
“Work contract Order” in copy the manager will write name of the
party. detail’s of flooring materials, required size of tiles, contract
orders advance in cash/DD/cheque etc and 50% down payment which
takes from customer.

Actually laying works will takes 8 to 10 days . It takes one week gap
after the laying of the tiles as the sight of customers. Then the polishing
work is begin the layed mosaic tiles require there stage of polishing.

The required raw materials for the manufacture of mosaic flooring tiles
are as follows

The tiles generally consist of one facing layer and two basic
layers. The batches for facing and backing, mixtures are prepared and
stored in compartments provided in the works on both sides of the
Hydraulic press. The steel mould fitted up with a bottom plate in filled
in 1 with facing mixtures are spread out up to an overall thickness
exceeding ¾ over this a dry mixture containing 1:3 ratio of cement and
sand is spread to absorb the water contents in the pulp .then the wet
mixture is spread over dry mixture is certain thickness. How, would is
closed and pressed in Hydraulic press or Hydraulic automatic press.
The pressed tiles will removed and kept in open air for drying for 6 to
8 hours. Now the tiles are ready for curing the tiles so dried will be
presented to curving tank for 3 to 4 weeks. After curving the tiles are
leveled with help leveling machine and are then distributed.

This machine is the modified version of the popular press model APM-
216, which is capable of manufacturing Interlock paving Blocks.

manufacture terrazzo/mosaic tiles, checkered tiles, heavy duty tiles of
any thickness size or shape.
All these features make this machine a very versatile for manufacture of

PROBLEMS OF INDUSTRY
Jay co construction has been facing several small and big problem
in its operations such as the non availability of duty free imports of
specializes machinery equipments. Problems related to industry like
technology, transportation etc.
The major problems of the industry will be as follows
1. Competitive market:-
This was the major problem in the industry. It leads to the increase
in the rate of profile like were Jay co was facing from their
problems day by day the range of competition is growing where
there is a direct competitive from two industries
1. Ramco is in Bhadravathi, Tunga is in Davanagere.
These two firms which are offered competition in their selling
price, color, design of the produce and manufacturing system and
promotions techniques etc.
However, market for that as not closed and there is increased sales
of activities of every year.
PROBLEM OF SUBSTITUTE:-
There are no of substitute in market which are having similar
purpose the customer will be having opportunities in selecting the
substitutes in place of mosaic tiles the main substitutes are
1. Shaba tiles
2. Marble tiles
While selling substitutes the price like main influencing factors if the
prices of substitute as less than mosaic tiles naturally, the customer
ultimate towards sub tiles on the other hand by the lesser priced product
these problem will also effected on sales.

Attractive figures, Photo prints & paintings. The advertisement
Board placing in some important Localities such as Railways
station, Bus stop, Busy Shopping Center etc, This help to improve
the brand image.
iii) Screen & Slides:- The firm may also use advertisement in screen
slides. They are shown in almost all the picture houses during the
show.
8 . From the market survey we found that customers are not satisfied
about the supervision work at site. The lack of proper supervision will
result delay of the work by the concerns. So the firm has to give more
attention towards the supervision work.
9. From the finding of the survey it is clear that most of the consumers
are Introduced Building, Engineers & Contractors. So it is better to keep
continuous contact & to maintain good relationship with contractors and
Engineers.
10. The general opinion is that the Jay co & Ramco are the two leading
producers of Mosaic Tiles in Shimogga city. But the Market survey
reveals that Jay co in top. Most of the Consumers are satisfied about the
product, the product, range, the terms of payment etc, so the firm has to
maintain the same standard and improve the quality of the product and
service whenever necessary.

CONCLUSION:
Mosaic tiles is also a very good produce quality of the jay co tiles
as very good but at present of Joy co tiles is only on factor which
influence much on consumer behavior. For attracting more consumers
towards the company is needs to improve his promotion activities by
considering all the factors of production the price of the produce must be
reduced.
Some people say, that the price of the product is high, even then
they purchase Jay co tiles, because of superior quality therefore price of
the product should must be reduced and also firm may necessary used
the important technique regarding promotion activities .
